Gonorrhoea Vaccine Roll out

BBC news

Gonorrhoea vaccines will be widely available from Monday in sexual health clinics across the UK, in a bid to tackle record-breaking levels of infections.

The jabs will first be offered to those at highest risk - mostly gay and bisexual men who have a history of multiple sexual partners or sexually transmitted infections.

NHS England say the roll out is a world-first, and predict it could prevent as many as 100,000 cases, potentially saving the NHS almost £8m over the next decade.

The Terrence Higgins Trust, who campaigned for the vaccine to be introduced in the UK, told the BBC it was "a huge win" for sexual health.

Good news. Preventative measures are always cheaper and better than dealing with issues.

I'm not gay or bisexual but I and my play partners have had a few run-ins with the sexual transmitted.

I can't deal with stress of potentially infecting my playmates so I would rather get jabbed. Same with Covid got jabbed because my parents are over 70.

Me alone I can handle but spreading to others...I can't handle mentally.

Not sure if the order goes:

1. gay or bisexual or bicurious men

1. sex workers

3. swingers.

They already offered me pep and prep at the London clinics. I can barely remember to take my mental health meds, never mind drugs for every STI/STD going.

They already gave me Hep B.

It's a personal choice for everyone.

I get offered everything because of my lifestyle putting me at greater risk!

I'm allowed to attend the drop in Tulip clinic, which is aimed at sex workers, as they said my LS puts me in the same category.

I'm so honest with them (they love my stories) and they spoke to me at the clinic about this vaccine being introduced, last visit.

For those not deemed eligible for the NHS vaccine, you could potentially get it privately.

"Although, I almost always play safe, sometimes there's accidents or the heat of the moment!!"

Condoms aren't 100% safe, so anything that's good backup is great

I'm assuming I'll get mine arranged in my September appointment but Cali has said hers hasn't started with anyone yet.

Vaccines supplies may be an issue. I'd pay privately if I wasn't eligible but should be.
