"Hi all. I’ve been doing some research and found out that Swingers should be able to get a free hepatitis B vaccination from their local sexual health clinic. Probably worth doing if you like to play bare so I think I’ll make an appointment. I’m getting some free PrEP through SH.UK too which I’ll use event based rather than every day. This has been advertised heavily to the gay community but not seemingly to swingers. Does anyone have experience of the HEP B vaccine? Does it make you ill? Also, I understand that a HEP A vaccine is available but that they don’t do those at the sexual health clinic. You can only get those from your GP if you’re travelling to a high risk place like the North Africa region. HEP A is spread by fecal matter getting in your mouth. It can be spread by trace quantities with poor food prep hygeine, for example. It doesn’t seem that impossible to me that you could get HEP A in a gangbang situation, swingers club or whatever. If someone has gone ass to pussy on a woman and you play with the same girl later and go down on her…. Or even just rimming someone of either sex….? I suppose you could just fib to your GP that you’re visiting North Africa to get the HEP A vaccine. Has anyone tried this?" Hepatitis A vaccination can be available at clinics, subject to your meeting their criteria. Like most vaccines, they are available via multiple sources, including privately.

"Just want AFAB women to know, event-based PREP doesn’t work for us so you need to take it every day. You can get it for free if you tell them your male partner is bi " Women can take PrEP event based but the dosing is different. Event based is only with Truvada rather than the alternative brand. That’s for either gender. For a man it’s 2:1:1. That’s two tablets two to twenty four hours before sex and then another 24 hours after and the last 48 hours after. If you have further risky sex during the ‘after’ period you have to keep taking one tablet every day until two days have passed after risky sex. For a woman it’s exactly the same but the two single tablets after the even turn into seven. They call it 2:7. For obvious reasons, if you’re having risky sex any more than once a week you’re effectively taking it daily anyway. I can imagine might still be a useful tool for some though. I know of a couple that only routinely play bare with a few trusted male FWB. They also, however periodically attend hotwife gangbang events where the lady takes ‘all comers’ but these are sometimes months apart. At these events everyone is tested, but testing isn’t perfect. For HIV it’s actually pretty useless. The person could be infected in the 45 days before the test and show negative. If you add the 45 days to however long between tests you’re accepting (three months is the norm) then that’s a four and a half month window. Even if you insist on a test less than 10 days old it nearly a two month window. These events have got to be pretty risky for the men too. I guess you’re going into a woman with a blend of so many guys in her and any of those could be positive. Way safer to use PrEP. That’s really why I wanted it.

"Adult performers are classed as sex workers so apart from most getting certed every 30 days, (so NOT a home test kit, nor getting a text saying OK but a paper or digital certificate listing what you are tested for, headed paper and a lovely signature), HEP is part and parcel of what you get done when you first start getting tested. T " Trixie, did you get a vaccine for both HEP A and B or was it only B?

" I guess they must think you aren’t at risk. There appear to be some varying opinions on the risk of doing OWO. Some websites say zero risk, some quote a very small risk like one in tens of thousands per encounter. I guess there could be aggravating factors like if you had a sore part in your mouth after dental work or similar. If you wanted it I suppose you could just fib and say you do bareback. I highly doubt that there could be any bad consequences to that.

If they give it out free to some people without ‘means testing’ their finances then they should give it to everyone that wants it, subject to explaining the health risks (osteoperosis if you’re a drinker, long term kidney damage.). I find it highly discriminatory that they only gave it to gay men and sex workers for quite a while. There were and are others at risk.

" I was having sex with more guys in a week than your average sex worker but because it is counted as recreational, I suddenly was playing too safe. The mind boggles on how they work it out I just now don't do so much group stuff... especially now I don't get that extra layer of protection. I could lie of course..which I have to do to get throat swabs

That’s about the only additional risk for them that I can think of. There’s an equal risk that a condom could split in either case and that will happen from time to time.
