I was recently asked for proof of my STI Checkup, how Recent and Results O. Once I'd arrived at a MM Meeting! Never been directly asked that before.

NHS Lothian - it's a Recorded Voice message you dial up to - personal code and DoB needed. Not very Portable!

What are the differences round the UK.

QUICK ANSWERS - SEE EXAMPLE - MY STI CLINIC ARE INTERESTED IN RESULTS, see my example.

Me - Dial-up Recorded Msg. Reg.No. And DoB verification.

I use SHUK, it allows me to generate a link to my results to share. It shows the name I’m registered under the service as, the date of the test and each of the test done and their results.

SH24 They are prompt, it’s free service & you can specifically get checked for one condition or all. Reply is by text. I’ll try to add it on here,. Like any other test, it’s really only valid at test time and until your next liaison… at least it shows you care!

It's just a shame you can't see if your provider is listed without the rigmarole of installing the app, registering etc. only to find they are not listed.

Absolutely agree. I can't see iCash but it may come under the NHS umbrella. It just asks for a link to your SH account. Sadly GLISH have just moved over to postal tests and you dont set up an account. Doesn't link to the NHS app either currently.

They work with SHL and SH:UK which do free tests at the moment. It also works with Luud Health which is a private provider and I think Test.me is also connected. And they’ve just launched in the Netherlands according to their Instagram. I assume other providers will be added in time.

Yes, that's the decent thing to do, I know I'd appreciate a 'heads up' if someone I'd played with had had issues with test results, to get any potential problems sorted ASAP

In Northumberia NHS trust you get a sms message which is absolutely helpless in these situations.

The message varies each time too.

My last one said

"No concerns with your recent test results. Thanks NHFT"

Another time:

"Your recent test results are negative. NHCFT".

We have our clinic appointment in 1/2 hour. We have to go, as I (fem) can't get blood for the SH24. Our SH24 results will be back any day now too. We do both, clinic & Sh24, we keep ahead of all the new developments. Plus, we like to know our sexual health status.

I've moved. Used to either do home test / and or a trip to Dean Street. Both gave a comprehensive breakdown on the text.

Now I visit my local clinic its a simple text that comes through, " your tests were clear" obviously thats all I need to know , I guess.

But it's not like someone sits there at the clinic with a Nokia 9510 texting you, so I don't figure why.

If someone distrusts me that much, well and that text isn't enough, bye Felicia !

Let's face it, that test is like the car MOT, only a reference to that moment it was tested.

It is a massive headache as the way result are given vary depending on the service you have done, even then they differ in parts of the country.

I have done a number of semi pro porn shoots that require full proof and a history of testing which is fine, but that is a hassle and as I have not been doing that for a while, I have been doing home tests and visiting a local clinic.

The main thing is what people will class as proof? A random text message, a verbal confirmation or a full on detailed break down identifiable to the individual.

"Your results from the tests on 06/11/2025 are all negative. If you've had tests taken at any other time you will be notified separately."

I got my recent all-clear by text message, but they did ask to speak to me. It turned out that although my results were good, it has showed that I have zero natural resistance to Hepatitis A/B. Apparently most people have some form of natural resistance, but not me, and if I was to ever catch it, it would hit me quite hard..... They recommended The Hep A/B vaccine which I went in for, and I wish I hadn't as I had quite a bad allergic reaction to the 1 month booster of the vaccination which has necessitated a GP visit and being put on steroids and antihistamines. I have a 3rd jab to go back for in March...just have to hope that the same thing doesnt happen again.

I don't think there is anything really that is to be gained by it,either having your whole history or by using it to police club visits or even meets.

The test results are a snapshot in time of when you were tested and as soon as that is gone and you've met anyone else then it could change.

Your past results mean nothing as long as you have had treatment if needed.

All I would think that it shows is that you take things seriously and take steps to protect yourself and others.

It's as much as you can expect.

SH24 don't provide services nationwide. They don't here in Lincolnshire

We get postal kits from GLISH with an unidentifiable sender.

‘Testing is only a point in time’ is absolutely true. Bearing in mind it can take up to 2 weeks for Donna Rea to show their head which means that testing after only 7 days since sexual encounter could provide a false negative. Same time period for Clamie. Syph I believe is up to 6 weeks and HIV is 3 months. Testing of course is also about saving others from infection as roughly 10% of Donna carriers are asymptomatic – experience no signs

I get tested at the local clinic as they don't offer a full test kit in Devon.

They phone me my results and give me the readout of my kidneys as I on on prep and book in my next appointment. So I don't have any proof of my results.

It varies a lot depending on the service you use and the location in the UK.

Plus what people class as proof can vary too as we know, some result as legitimate as they are, are sent via an easily faked process.

I guess it is for your own piece of mind, they don't expect you to be waving it out of the car window all the time.

Get tested every 3/4 months, we don’t bother with getting results, written or verbal, they contact you if anything negative.

Almost a social visit for us, get a cake and juice and have a lovely chat with the Doctor and nurse about all sorts of things.

They also sort out all our vaccinations, Hep, MPox etc but we do live in France so things maybe different
