Yes came off sertraline via the doctors didn't notice a change at first but as time went on I noticed my emotions coming back and felt more normal.

Been off mine 2 years now amd don't feel I need them again

dizziness

headache

feeling tired

anxiety

trouble sleeping

nausea

loss of appetite

irritability

Other reported symptoms are: chills, confusion, diarrhea, dry mouth, excessive sweating, feeling of unease, electric shock-like sensations ("brain zaps"), muscle aches, burning or tingling sensation in hand, arm, foot or other extremity (paresthesias), runny nose, tremor, vertigo, vomiting and vivid dreams or nightmares.

Venlafaxine can be very difficult to withdraw from, I came off slow release by accident, but when I had to ween off the quick release it was absolute hell.

I have tried so many antidepressants and venlafaxine was the hardest to come off, I was having breakdowns at work weekly at least.

Firstly well done you for getting off them, I understand the battle personally it is a lonely place. But know this pharma an all the institution we were taught to trust is all about profit not health an healing all they want is repeat repeat repeat!!! Never trust anyone who profits from what it proclaims to fight.

Venlafaxine is a bastard to come off. Gradually is key. Even if you have to stretch it out over weeks. The worst side effects seemed to be the intrusive thoughts and feeling of overwhelming emotions. They pass. Slowly. Good luck with Sertraline!

Venlafaxine is a hard one to come off. It was the first one they put me on but only for a few weeks before switching me to Sertraline. These helped me massively (and I then got incredible stamina lol). I've been off them now for 2 years now and doing well. When you come off all antidepressants if you are ready, you can feel amazing as the numb feeling disappears and you may possibly gain a new approach for life. Well done for talking about it and a massive good luck 👍

Been off 250mg sertraline a few years now after being on them 10 years!

I'll be honest, it was horrific coming off them, no idea how my husband got through it. He's just amazing and I'm probably only still here due to him, kids and family as it was a really rough ride.

Make sure you have plenty support, if no family then try something like Andy's man club or if in greater Manchester theres Talk About It Mate and you can refer to talking therapies through your GP.

BUT coming off them was the best thing I ever did. I finally feel like me again and although there's still some anxiety I feel more positive than ever.

Remember it's ok to not be ok. Reaching out for help is the strongest thing you can do and the world is a better place with you in it.

Lucky you been on for 12 yrs. Try coming off, with doc supervision, end up crashing. Lifestyle, stress too much. Good luck though
