For any ladies going through the menopause.. I highly recommend the Marina Coil!! I don't feel menopausal at all. No brain fog, night sweats, hot flushes are very rare.. and still very much wanting sex (just don't get it lol) It's been a life changer

I had Ablation surgery about 18 months ago, and it's the best decision I've ever made.

My bleeds have stopped, the only trace of Menopausal symptoms is the occasional hot flush in the afternoon, but that's it.

Maybe I just got lucky on this one.

The Mirena coil will supply progesterone to your body but you will still need estrogen as well as small amounts of testosterone (this helps especially to boost libido and mitigates brain fog). Women who have undergone hysterectomies or who no longer have periods (post-menopausal) generally do not need progesterone (it works to avoid an over-thickening or build up of the uterine lining which can occur through estrogen).

You need localised oestrogen. Creams are messy but you can use a small amount externally too. Are you on hrt?

I asked my doctor they won't give it to me as I don't have hot flushes.

Sin e them my symptoms have worsened brain fog is worse a few more mood swings and low libido, still getting periods not every month though.

It doesn't help that my doctors don't have a .menopause specialist but he did say he can put me in contact with one if I need it

This makes me so mad! You don't need hot flushes to get hrt. Download the Balance app, do a symptoms checker report and see a different GP. Nice guidelines are also useful too, have a Google.

I'm peri menopausal, I find itchy skin and aching joints are the worse for me.

I also struggle even more with sleeping. I'm taking a natural supplement called peri menofriend by Dr vegan.

It definitely helps with the aches and pains and my skin isn't as dry, as they have soy isoflavones in, which mimic oestrogen.

The itching was the worst for me also, my arms especially. The marina coil stopped all that. I take magnesium glycinate that helps tremendously with sleeping.

Go to.your GP and explain your symptoms. There is a lot that can be done to help with the symptoms but they don't always prescribe them as they are costly.

Be persistent with your GP and if nothing changes go and see another. Davina mccoll has done a lot on tv highlighting the plight so have a look online. There is private Dr online called Dr Zoe. Meg Matthews has tweeted about her and uses her a lot for advice.

Please feel free to.message me directly if you want to talk or some advice. I'm not a Dr (in medicine) but does its do have a fair bit of knowledge on this subject.

I wouldn't wish a bad menopause on any one, my dryness has been so bad the pain it caused lead me to having to give up work. I couldn't do house work or shopping or anything really. I have just gone on to new estrogen tablets and need to start off once a day for a month ... Fingers crossed once they kick in I can get back to having regular sex ... If your in any doubt at all please keep badgering your GP id hate for anyone else to have to go through this.

I'm so glad I came across this thread!

The burning ear thing? I thought I was going crazy. Its been so bad I've woken up with them. I bought a cool pad for my pillow which does help a bit.

The brain fog is horrendous. I still get a period for a couple of days, but they are so heavy. Like when they first started!

I was watching a Dr on TV who described menopause like a 2nd puberty.

Thank you all for sharing ✨️

It is so frustrating reading some of your posts ladies… it is always possible to have her - even after cancer - if it is managed properly. It is about mitigating risks and doing what is best big picture….

For me I suffered for 10 years without realising there was help and I hate seeing other so the same…

But the crux of it for me is that oestrogen helps to mitigate the risks of heart disease (no 1 killer of women) and osteoporosis (just plain horrible)…

Managing menopause symptoms is a juggling act and managing your doctor can be even worse, but do your research and stand your ground…!

Dr Louise Newman has an amazing podcast, I listened for hrs doing research, she is the worlds leading expert in all things menopausal and if all else fails runs a private clinic who will make recommendations to your go.

But I have found that the biggest hurdle for most women is denial - admitting you have got to ‘that age’ and overcoming the stigma of even the word menopause - after that embracing something that can help with all the horrible symptoms it can cause is the easy part 😂

As many people say, if it affected men there would be automatic treatment given to everyone - look at what has happened with viagra ffs…! Yes we are supposed to suck it up as part of getting older?!

Well no thank you…!!

Never had any symptoms maybe coil helped.

Hot ears, only when someone speaks ill of me.

I do tend to get a soggy bottom when baking.

Never gushed but I do have excellent bladder control and function.

Miostness just takes a little longer to achieve, small amount of lube or a more experienced partner, keep away from people who think foreplay is rubbing my lady bits like they are trying to light a fire.

An ablation would have no factor on menopuse. I've had one. I've had bloods done to check what stage I'm at for menopause. Results came back, as I'm no where near starting. So up next for the hystorectomy. Keeping my overies, so I don't go straight to menapouse.

"Has any lady's experienced dryness? I am starting to get it and during sex drying out which has never happened.

Not sure what to say to my doctors as he's already told me I can't have hrt cause I don't get flushes I don't really want to go on hrt but might need some help with lubrication "

You need topical oestrogen like Vagifem or vagariux plus the cream. It is not like normal HRT as it doesnt enter the bloodstream, just works where you need it! Talk to your Dr and if they don’t know about it try the next one until you get one who is educated on it, took me 3 years and lots of UTI before I got told about it by chance. Don’t be fobbed off by you’re not old enough or you don’t need it. Look up Davina McCall and all those other celebs talking about it they have lead the way in this and the Docs are following

I’m going though a hot flushes and vivid dream stage, I find it comes and goes but honestly I feel like I have internal thermostat turned up to the highest. The weight gain is ridiculous, the periods are either not there or horrendously heavy, I can’t have hrt I’m literally really tired of this but my libido is as high as it has ever been if not higher 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Mrs N has been fairly lucky in that she had none of the obvious symptoms. However loss of Libido very much so and she has underactive thyroid so struggled without medication to keep her weight down.

Now more her old self but still very hard to get aroused. She does accept that though and tries very hard to enjoy a resaonbly normal naughty sex life for a 62 year old.

My journey on the menopause has been hell. My relationship is wrecked because of my mood swings, my insecurities and anxiety are at an all time high and I feel so emotionally drained. Right now I have no support and I feel like that black hole has just got even darker and smaller. It's been 5 years and still no let up.

"I've dryness and my sex drive goings from wanting to have sex and none stop wanting to play with pusay to now iam hardly ever horny."

Strange really as now that the risk of unwanted pregnancy is gone you'd think recreational sex would appeal more and the thought of good orgasms would appeal more However............. Apparently desire can return. You just have to avoid total abstinence as that can switch it off and be far far harder to rekindle the fire in your pussy.

Menapause is cruel in the way it gives with one hand but takes away with the other.
