Yes and you look at a list of symptoms, put your money in, press the appropriate number and out pops a diagnosis and two paracetamol, sometimes a home plastering kit for broken limbs.

They cut beds when they don't have enough staff to man the wards safely, you can blame the government and nhs underfunding for that.

"We currently have a Flu Pandemic which is overwhelming our hospitals" It's interesting the word overwhelming. And the spread of its use like a virus. Whta is the capacity of our hospitals and how many of those spaces are taken up with customers with flu? It may be the case. But it may that a few weeks ago when someone posted the same, there were 2000 people in hospitals withe flu / respiratory illnesses. I'd like to hope our health service is not overwhelmed if 2000 people are ill.

Also how are beds being cut when new hospitals are built? Are they closing old ones and building smaller ones?Yes. Next question? Where has this happened?" NHS have been obsessed with a clinical and management pivot towards reducing the amount of time patients spend in hospital. Flow is what matters - and the better clinical outcomes delivered by getting people out of hospital quicker demand more emphasis on day cases, and less emphasis on bed spaces. That means in turn less staff on night duty, and simpler less well appointed wards which are ideal for turning round day cases but no use for doing longer term care with older people with, for instance, respiratory complaints.

People are wise to it, we were all locked down and government ministers were all partying and having it off with one another. I believe the vast majority of people would just ignore a lockdown now. " My Tin foil hat wearing friend said way back at the start of lockdowns. This pandemic is fake, the lockdown is to 1. See who will comply and 2. Possibly, who really knows.? Without any facts people are just repeating the same shite they do about the last covid one. People double down without any substantive evidence at all. Media stoke it up with emotive language and agenda led story telling. We build hospitals presumably to treat and house people. Then when they treat and house people in winter. Which happens every year without fail we start panic mongering for some reason. Our health service is with a few exceptions shockingly bad. And then we are surprised when it provides a bad service. That aside. Let's hope there isn't another lurgy round the corner. We are not very good at coping with bad stuff.

Was at least 11 people with severe respiratory issues due to flu or similar. I also had to be kept in a day care ward as the main gyne ward has a covid and flu outbreak in it. To the op.. its not a new virus in China. It is just a bit more severe this year

Get out in that mud and get some germs itll look after you when your older yeah but it makes sense to wear a mask when in close contact.. especially in medical settings. makes more sense to not get into close contact but sometimes thats not the case i get that, and if you want to wear a mask your choice 👍 I worked in health care during covid and travelled around Italy once we could. They were much stricter with mask wearing. No health exceptions. I managed to work with covid patients during the worst of it without catching it as I used masks... and other ppl.. plus had my vaccines etc wife did too long before masks and vaccines and only caught it once we think " as far as masks go in my opinion thats all, i think they do help reduce the spread as would a handkerchief with a cough but do absolutely 0% of preventing you catching it due the particle size

Hospitals busy because hospital planners seem to love cutting beds when they build new hospitals and also we’ve had a net influx of over 2 million people in the last 2 years…. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out both of those things will put huge pressure on the healthcare system! Where are these new hospitals you speak of?rwanda An increase of about 4% in the population isn't stressing ICU capacity is it? That's a mental claim. GPs services yes but those migrants are all young healthy people. It is old and vulnerable people who suffer during flu season" i didnt say rwanandans

And that's including all those lessons we all learned from the last 4 year's of fighting covid. More saucepans need to be banged.. Or maybe more hand sanitizer. "The increase in flue cases is partly due to a decline in people TAKING THE VACCINE. So...if you are over 50 or vulnerable, get your flu shot ffs." Not only flu that has seen an increase in cases due to vaccine hesitancy. See also Measles, whooping cough and other preventable diseases. WHO estimated a decade ago that around 1.5 million children died globally each year due to reduced vaccination rates. Can only imagine that number will rise due to the conspiracy theorists spreading misinformation in the last few years. If you can get vaccinated.

Trouble is, often the issue was caused by misinformation being spread by the health services, pharma, gov etc which has never really been addressed. They created the open door and allowed the conspiracies to kick it in. There certainly needs to be more effort put into rebuilding trust because as you say if there are folks who would benefit from an available vaccine it's good they are helped. If they choose not to, that should also be respected however. Not sure why some folks seem to feel they should force interventions on other people. Accurate, non sensational reporting would be a good place to start. But getting caught out by people getting winter illness in winter is not excusable. Further they will know how effective the flu vaccine is and how many folks have had it.

"It's interesting also the myth of conspiracy theorists spoiling uptake of the flu vaccine. In 2015 the uptake was 71%.. In 2019 it was 72%..in 2023 it was 80%. Figures for 2024 obviously not yet available but seems the rates of uptake now are higher and yet we are overwhelmed than they were in 2015 when we weren't overwhelmed. Hospitals busy because hospital planners seem to love cutting beds when they build new hospitals How many new hospitals have been built in the last two years ? Also how are beds being cut when new hospitals are built? Are they closing old ones and building smaller ones? Yep. The idea is primary care and community nursing take up the slack. However, this is impossible as one nurse can only travel to see one patient at a time (we do see couples fairly regularly). When we can time travel, we'll be able to do more community nursing is pushed to virtual, certainly for health visiters anyway, not sure how well you can get a feel for mother, baby and surroundings on a video call " But health visiting isn’t the same as community nursing, it’s public health nursing and they all have a variety of different nursing experiences.

Let's say a man is COVID free and was hit by a car, and was doomed to die from his injuries. Someone who helps him, transfers the COVID bug to him, and a few days later he dies. On his death certificate, COVID would have been put down as a contributing factor. Why ?

They also relate directly to the statement of "driven by a male in army recruitment age", which most would be safe to presume is insinuating that only men have fled Ukraine. The same men who should be in their own country on the front lines, if by some notion developed nations fight like it's trench warfare still (they don't) but still, it's barely any significance the age/sex/wealth someone has to be in another country, out the way of war.

Makes no sense re the numbers you posted. In what way? The whole thing is jumbled up, and doesn’t really relate correctly. Ok. I probably didn't explain it clearly. I quickly looked at statistics. Of the total number of Ukrainian refugees, most are women and children. Of the total number of male Ukrainian refugees, around 56% are between 18 and 64. I don't know how many of that 56% are of fighting age or how many drive expensive cars. You didn't punctuate it as well no, but it still made sense. However I see many people purposely being obtuse if they don't agree. And it's not just fab or it's forums. That's the real pandemic though that's hurting everyone, not a respiratory virus, but the ability to be tolerant and understanding is rapidly declining. " Yeah my punctuation is atrocious . Eats Shoots and Leaves was written for me. Tolerance is low on many things I agree. I think understanding of others perspective has always been in short supply...a bit like commas in my writing

It was happening before the covid mullarkey, then we had about 3 weeks where we all tried really hard to help people out, and then all hell broke loose with people buying colossal amounts of toilet tissue and pasta while little old folks were left to go without... "All colds flu etc are corona viruses. They all have the ability to redevelop and renew themselves. The human body adapts to counteract this and on it goes again. The big problem is when the media instill panic in the population. " Influenza is a corona virus and most cold aren't corona viruses either

Many corporations now are bugger and more powerful than governments... Pharma, tech and many made significant gains and changes as an outcome. " You are possibly look how much power Elon musk wields in this country, and other countries, he should have little to do with. The move to cashless society is mainly to hit criminals and the black market. Of course taxation is a driver too, was probably the same when society moved from bartering to cash I long time ago. All business wants to monetize everything they always have.

"Same like the Ukrainian war... Another bullshit. They had a war from maidan incident. Hows that we see so many Ukrainians over here in expensive cars driven by a male in army recruitment age?! How can you tell the nationality of people in cars? A good guess is Ukrainian number plate and flag. I just did a quick search. It seems that there are more women and children than men and around 56% of all the men are between 18 and 64. I don't know how many of these will be driving expensive cars with Ukrainian plates. Makes no sense re the numbers you posted. In what way? The whole thing is jumbled up, and doesn’t really relate correctly. Ok. I probably didn't explain it clearly. I quickly looked at statistics. I've seen a number of Ukrainian vehicles, and they seem to be on the more expensive side.
