Yes matt hancock is a twat, a lying one at that, everything was overblown to enforce lockdowns which caused more harm than good, this is all proved in the messages him and boris were sending eachother in the whatsapp group that was used as evidence in the enquiry.

For vaccine efficency there is quite a lot data on that comparing comparable populations. Isolation is a tricky one because it does really stop people catching covid because everyone pretty much got in the end. Isolatings main aims were one stopping everyone catching it at the same time to stop it overwhelming the health services and simply buying time to develop a vaccine. If you look at comparable countries that locked down and one that didn't you can see the effect. Masks you will never get absolute numbers but it is simple basic physics that tells you if you wear a mask you will spread an airborne disease less. Now there is an argument that it doesn't reduce it enough but yet again you can't put absolute numbers on it. | |||

The difference according to multiple studies is that natural immunity gained from catching COVID came with a risk of death, blood clots, lung damage and long term effects still being recorded whereas immunity gained from vaccine lessened the risk of serious complications bar a few (mostly mild) side effects Allegedly some people died from the side effects of the vaccine. I've yet to personally hear of a confirmed case although I don't think it's a lie but three people in our street died following a COVID infection in 2020. Other than that, immunity is immunity regardless of how it is achieved. Yes some of the rules were ridiculous. The government was stuck between opening society up which was what they wanted and listen to science telling them to shut down. Lock down wasn't to stop everyone catching covid but stop everyone catching it at once so not overwhelm the health service like at the very start, that when death rates shoot up. It also bought time to develop vaccines and other treatments. If it wasn't covid that people died of what did all those extra people die of?
What a strange question.? I think that's the flaw in some folks thinking. It can't be anything but covid. Unless each individual cause of death was accurately recorded we will never know and anyone who assumes anything different, is simply that. Making assumptions. And we know what that does.
It's not a strange loads more people than normal died, just when a novel respiratory virus emerged. Deaths from things like drug overdoses,murders, suicides, traffic accidents and work accidents all dropped. Something has to be killing all those people, some people deny it's covid so what was it that killed all those extra people?"I don't know. But the absence of knowledge doesn't mean I link to something with no evidence or facts. I know it killed my mum. So I have no doubts it exists and for some is horrendous. But I also have massive doubts about the narrative that was constructed from sloppy science and massaging stats to say what was convenient. And further the lack of proof for some specific questions which could have easily been proven had the motivation been there. (maybe they were but they didn't like the answers so have not been made available). They being the gov at the time, the nhs at the time and the companies at the time. | |||

The uk blood scandal stems from this. WHO told the uk and other government about blood product from the US contained hep C in 1975 and recommended counties become self sufficient in blood product, but various governments did really little towards this due to the cost. | |||
