Who has heard of this?

Apparently it's so common it's not even tested for unless you have symptoms.

So is passed on & on and on.

Trichomoniasis is a type of sexually transmitted infection caused by a tiny parasite.

A gum clinic can test for it (postal kits aren’t good for it as they live around the cervix and don’t survive the post. They are diagnosed under a microscope. The symptoms are very very obvious when one has it.

That said, some can be asymptomatic. I always do in-person testing six-monthly and look for “strawberry cervix” when I check my IUD strings monthly. Most sti tests only test for the big five which is also why I never do oral without a barrier in place.

Trichomoniasis is a common sexually transmitted infection caused by a parasite. In women, trichomoniasis can cause a foul-smelling vaginal discharge, genital itching and painful urination. Men who have trichomoniasis typically have no symptoms.

Here and There

Our GUM clinic don’t test as standard but it’s included in the tests they do if you have symptoms.

Never had it, but it’s apparently easily treated.

Yeah I've heard about it and I'm clued up on symptoms because it's not generally tested for unless you ask.

I think most people have at this point, atleast women maybe because it can be mistaken for BV or vise versa just from the symptoms

"Strawberry cervix, fish sauce, whatever next?"

That’s just for starters.

You’ve still got Beef Wellington and Eton Mess to come. Followed by a blue Stilton.

BV can have various triggers, like being toooooo clean, being allergic to latex (my personal trigger until I tried latex free condoms), multiple partners...
