Exactly one year to the day and I have it again.

Suffered really bad first time, pneumonia etc, with lasting sinus problems. So I'm very nervous.

Did people find it worse/better second go around or is it just pot luck?

Feeling quite miserable and sorry for myself atm so apologies.

Is 2.0 an upgrade?

Will I need my Nintendo for this?

You do know that a vaccine just makes your body create the antibodies.... don't you?

A friend of mine (30 year old competition kick boxer) had it for the second time a couple of weeks ago. For her, the second time was MUCH worse than the first. She describes it as amongst the worst two weeks of her life. She is "mainly" recovered now but still suffering slightly with shortage of breath.

She was also unvaccinated...

A vaccine with a dead version of the virus does this however the scan one so many people took may or may not do anything other than ruin your life

For a short time but your body still continues to make the cytotoxic spike proteins oh how wonderful

Before posting utter bollocks please enroll for a course in basic cell biology, the Open University runs a very good one.

Prove its bollocks have you read the Pfizer documents? I have your the one who needs to educate yourself... There is no off switch I'm the MRNA jab to stop the production of the spike proteins

Apologies, I was responding to the last bit of the thread above but unfortunately it picked up the original start, there is no continued production of cytotoxic spike protein in response to an mRNA vaccine.

mRNA is short lived in cells, this is not like gene editing.

they do not run riot around your body. They do not alter things and they do not stay in the body indefinitely

Woman I know caught it in the first wave was put in an induced coma and hooked up to a machine to help her breath for just over a year she's out hospital 5 months ago but has got to have a oxygen mask on all the time to help her breath

I'm intrigued. What was the scan, why would people take it, did either of you? What would the scan show. Please tell me more about this COVID scan?

Two years in hospital with Covid must be the longest stay of anyone.

Jan 2020 was a very unpleasant covid experience for me. Pneumonia and ill for a good few weeks with shortness of breath for a while and fatigue even longer.

After several vaccinations, start Aug 2022 I had it again but much milder, more like a bad cold/chest infection type thing for just a few days. However, the lasting effect on my chest (I am also asthmatic I will add) meant that when I caught something in September, that I went from ok to hospitalised in just 2 days where I then stayed for a week very unwell. I am only just properly over this a month after coming out of a respiratory ward

I hope its much kinder to you this time OP, look after yourself x

I had covid in 2020. Just felt like a cold.

I'm just getting over Covid 2.0 and it hit me like a sledgehammer to the chest. I'm in my 3rd week off work and can still barely move because my lung capacity is so reduced.

Exactly, the vaccines don't "Produce" spike proteins at all. They "contain" the spike proteins (the bits of the virus that your immune system responds to).

Actually not quite correct for the mRNA vaccines, mRNA encodes for the spike protein and for a few days before it is broken down causes the cells close to the injection site to produce the spike protein. The spike protein then triggers the bodies immune response including the memory function. Both the mRNA and the spike protein are degraded and cleared from the body within a few weeks.
