SITTINGBOURNE

Asking about Covid checks as you arrived in Soain this week after the online form was no longer needed.

Was documentation checked for fully vaccinated individuals?

Cheers!

Random checks for covid vaccination certificate on a few people in our flight queue. Friends on a different flight, same airport, everyone on theirs was checked.

Saying that, just remembered, no one was checked on my flight into the same airport a month ago, so it is totally random but still need to be prepared to show it.

Costa Blanca Spain...

Maybe the rules are different for us flying in from Germany.

We flew into Alicante last week and didn't see anyone being checked and there was a UK flight in the baggage hall at the same time as us.

The desks where they used to check paperwork have now gone.

We went a few weeks ago. We passed through this small area at the airport lined on either side by people in medical scrubs and masks, sat at desks. I assume they were there to do the spot checks but no one on our flight was pulled out.

Germany has different rules to the UK. UK is now considered a third country so covid checks still in place. My covid paperwork wasn't checked either way about 6 weeks ago but my cousin and his partner were checked about a month ago.

I AM boosted but the NHS haven’t updated my records so can’t prove it. Had to do a swab. There was a man on the entry door to Bilbao airport 2 weeks ago checking everyone’s and scanning the QR codes.

If your 2nd vaccination is less than 270 days ago you are ok too.

I am off to Portugal on Sunday. I don’t think I need the same stuff as you need to get into Spain.

You need to make sure you have everything they require otherwise you run the risk of not being able to enter. We were not checked at all when we went in June But we know people that went last week and were so it seems to be random checks. Another thing is when we took out travel insurance we had to tick that we had been fully vaccinated so if you haven't then you need to make sure your travel insurance will pay if you get covid and need treatment while you're out there.

We flew into Seville two weeks ago. No documentory checks only a quick temperature check by airport staff. Took seconds.

Another consideration is that infection levels and Covid hospital admissions are markedly up in the UK. Other countries may focus on such indicators, to renew their focus on people from here.

Hope you have a lovely trip and successful entry!

It does seem to be very hit-and-miss and I think it depends on which airport you go into. I think anybody going into Spain needs to be aware of the travel requirements as you can be asked just because some people aren't doesn't mean you won't be.

I had to show my vaccine certificate to get into Majorca very recently. Remember the paper copies expire after 2months.
