Curious as to why the virus thread only goes back 6 days. Anyone know the reason for this??

"All the forum pages only go back 6 weeks. It saves on storage.

Think you need go check other forums they go way past 6 weeks and way more pages of storage."

I just went through 3 of them and they all stop at 6 weeks.

Stockport

If you use a PC rather than the phone app, you can access all the archived forum posts. The phone app connects using the "https://m.fabswingers.com/" address, which gives different webpages to the PC browser view of the site on "https://www.fabswingers.com/". It _is_ just about possible to persuade a phone to let you see the "https://www.fabswingers.com/" pages, but they are totally the wrong shape for a phone screen - might be okay on a decent sized tablet.

With the PC browser version of the site, at the bottom of each forums contents list there is a huge long list of archive pages for that forum. The lounge forum archives go back to January 2009 (which had a mere 10 threads). By 2010 the lounge was getting about 1000 threads a month, and now it hovers around 3500 to 4000 threads a month. Virus archives go back to March 2020 at 653 threads in the month. Number of threads each month follows an up and down curve that vaguely reflects the covid waves, increasing in winter, decreasing in summer. Since this March virus forum is barely hitting 20 threads a month. I presume either that interest in the pandemic has fallen, or maybe it's because some of those taking little precaution are by now too sick/dead to keep the arguments going...

IYes, it is a recent change, having said that, if you search for "covid" you get results 18 months ago

I checked and yes it is 6 weeks on all the forums, then on the 6th week, it sais archived and you can go back as long as january 2009. I guess that is when the first thread was done?

Scunthorpe

It actually goes back to 2020, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page (on the desktop site) you can see the archived months.
