have finally succumbed to covid after 2 1/2 years and toughing it out with usual cough and muscle fatigue symptoms. seem to be through the worst bits

however. gums are inflamed & sensitive and jaw aches as if i have been grinding my teeth (which i may well have been)

do folk recognise these symptoms?

were there any prolonged after effects?

Inflamed and sensitive gums sounds a bit like gingivitis.......

Trip to the dentist as soon as you can...

I put iodine solution on a cotton bud for gingivitis and seems to kill it yeah tastes bad but does the job

With grinding that's stress you may need a gum shield try and relax and think happy memories before bed. Lavender on your side table

I had this when I had covid. My whole mouth was sore. I also had bright red inflamed eyes.

Thankfully it was temporary.

My teeth and gums were very painful when I had covid. Luckily the pain stopped when my covid cleared up.

Wish I hadn't had the jabs! Convinced they fucked up my immune system! X

You may want to ask your dentist about Botox treatment for jaw aches and pains. It’s a bit pricey but could help. No filthy jokes please

Currently suffering with Covid - first time, triple jabbed. I’ve had fever, temperature, aches and pains, constant cough, runny nose on and off, headache and toothache. My gums aren’t sore to look at but my teeth have hurt.

Would give your dentist a visit, it maybe totally unrelated.

No harm having a quick check up.

Presently (hopefully) coming out of the other side after 6 days of significant sweats, cough, runny, very runny nose, loss of taste and smell and pain in teeth and fatigue. Bloody odd virus and hope i am the mend but pain in jaw/teeth was a symptom for myself however no issue with gums.

Hope you get well soon

Your teeth have improved because you don't wear a mask anymore?

Blimey, I wouldn't have thought it was connected but I have had a bit of trouble in that department since Covid which started just when I thought the Cvoid was going away.

This virus just seems to keep giving doesn't it

It's easier to brush the teeth and use mouthwash now.

Can I clarify . A mod cannot ban people from the forum if you recieve an abusive mail, they can only ban a person from the forum if they break forum rules.

You will need to report the mail to Admin for them to deal with

( posts removed for the people who think this makes no sense )

There are interesting articles about mask wearing and oral health.

I am reliably informed that Covid is much more than just an upper respiratory infection. So could well be experiencing other symptoms that’s not everyone else has had. I had Covid beginning of June after managing to evade it since it’s conception it left me with bad back and hip pain. Thankfully largely due to double painkillers this has eased, but those who managed to miss it will eventually get it although not as bad as those in the beginning as it’s mutated and vaccines are around

Are you vaccinated, if so it could be adverse vaccine reactions. You may need to report these effects to the yellow card scheme the vaccine centre should of given you all the details about the yellow card scheme

Things should settle down when you’re free of Covid but could take up to 6 weeks, anything over that is possible long Covid

Shangri-La

Being ill with anything can also have an impact on your teeth and gums. If the disease does not actually attack our oral health, the way that we feel when we are ill certainly can do.
