Severely painful throat

Has anyone experienced this whilst being tested positive ? I'm aware that sore throat is one of the symptoms but I'm referring to a severely painful sore throat. I'm currently on day 3 and sound like a barking dog, I've had sore throats in the past but nowhere close to the severe pain of this

It is a common symptom, obviously compounded by the coughing

I had a really bad one once, way off the scale for pain.

It was tonsillitis. See your GP

If it doesn't abate after a week, it might be something else.

Covid and its variants do induce all sorts of odd symptoms that vary and are transitory.

This will go on for years.

I had Covid a few weeks ago. The most painful throat ever, way off the scale. Same with a headache. Lasted 3 days

Yes and a headache that won't shift, my only symptoms.

Honey and lemon drinks ease it.

DIFFLAM spray works well on the throat. Over the counter though, so ask the chemist staff for it.

Now as a child I suffered with horrible sore throats, a old doctor swore by gargling soluble aspirin 3 times day don’t ask my how or why it works but it’s never failed me.
