The restrictions were necessary when the situation was critical and are less so now. It's the same as a flood warning. The advice to maintain causation will remain.

"I have Covid at the moment. Tested positive Sunday. You wouldn't know I have it. Couple of sniffels, that's it. If this is it going forward, and the disease has mutated to this present mild strain, people will just need to live with it and get back to a normal life. Some will continue to wear masks and that's ok. " I think that some might be a bit more socially responsible and wear a mask if they have a bad cold or flu is no bad thing going forward.. "Since there isn't a huge surge in hospitalisations or deaths, it seems a sensible decision. I wonder, though, if it's also influenced by the current political climate. Can a government holding regular parties under lockdown expect us to follow restrictions?" Think it must have something to do with it yes x

The numbers going into Hospital is are not going down yet and with 438 poor souls dying yesterday, which was 40 more than this time last week then it may not be a "surge" but it isn't nothing either

Tuesday is always the highest day for deaths because of a lag in reporting. And a reminder that these are deaths from ANY CAUSE within 28 days of a positive test. The hospital numbers have been flat for weeks and likewise, many of the people in the hospital numbers went into hospital with something else and tested positive while there. What is it they say about lies and statistics...

Blanquer was not breaking any laws – there were no Covid restrictions stopping travel to Spain and ministers had been asked to remain in Europe, two hours from Paris. "The government has seen sense at last. Now we have to get to the truth of all this nonsense. The next step, in the interests of truth and democracy, is to overturn the Ofcom guidelines that have restricted public access to information. One day there has to be a series of public inquiries into the lies we have been told. People have given up two years of their lives. " Sadly not everyone is as lucky. I have a friend fighting for his life in hospital with omicron and has no underlying conditions….. it’s still a disease that can make some very poorly indeed

"Since there isn't a huge surge in hospitalisations or deaths, it seems a sensible decision. I wonder, though, if it's also influenced by the current political climate. Can a government holding regular parties under lockdown expect us to follow restrictions? I know everyone is celebrating but lets not pretend things are perfect or low in numbers. The numbers going into Hospital is are not going down yet and with 438 poor souls dying yesterday, which was 40 more than this time last week then it may not be a "surge" but it isn't nothing either 438 didn't die yesterday, their deaths were recorded yesterday. What is it they say about lies and statistics..." Actually in all of the figures and the slides they show in the briefings they always make the distinction of those that die with covid.. and those who die of covid….. And as for the high Tuesday figures… you are right, there is sometimes lag due to offices being close at the weekend… so we look at the 7 day average 7 day average figure…. Still the highest it has been in a long time!!

So it wasn't wrong on a point of fact; just you didn't like the way it was written? point of fact ... try checking it yourself What fact was incorrect? I ask because a few lines up you said you objected to the way I'd written it. Can we get to the bottom of this? What fact was incorrect? "What nonsense it has been. I've just read that a French Cabinet member announced tougher restrictions...and then went on holiday to Ibiza" And to help you understand as its proving difficult Blanquer was not breaking any laws – there were no Covid restrictions stopping travel to Spain and ministers had been asked to remain in Europe, two hours from Paris. The announcement was made over the xmas/new year break via video ... he was already in Ibiza. You, me and everyone else knows you were trying to sensationalise a story to make it appear the French Minister was being hipoctitical over covid restrictions. When he wasnt ... he didnt announce or breach restrictions and jet off to IBIZA which is what you were trying to say/imply. Just be honest with your posts and give full context, it might be a novel idea to you but it saves all this backwards and forwards You sound very defensive about how those who urged tougher restrictions were very casual in their own behaviour. Like you just want to defend them and ridicule any questions. If you can't see the hypocrisy and contempt then I don't know how you would ever see it" Simple question, was it against the rules for the French minister to travel to Ibiza? Yes or no
