This is interesting to see.

Of course the politics of the supreme Court may be at play but reading the story is interesting that the US aren't having vaccine mandates for employees.

Not quite….. the Supreme Court said the government ARE allowed to ask for a vaccine mandate for government employees and frontline healthcare staff if they happen to be looking after patients….. that bit stayed!

What was struck down was the bit about the government mandate requiring private busines to follow the same mandate….. Although private business can follow government guidelines if they wish

It’s a 50/50 win at best…..

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

It's certainly brought publicity and a list of companies who will enforce it privately and thus, encourage more to follow.

It's my understanding that such private mandates are permissible under US law. That is, company XYZ says that employees must be vaccinated. Which is different to the government telling company XYZ that the company must require it.

Certainly made companies sit up and listen and government may already knew they'd loose, but the publicity its generated has helped the cause.

It's certainly been a better outcome for the US to have higher proportions of their population vaccinated, wether via government employees or private corporations following suit.

It's been a tough time for such a heavily devastated country, with high levels of antivax pressure, that's forced the outcome to be so much worse than it needed to have been
