Boris usually does whatever Wales and /or Scotland does but a week or 2 later when it's too later.

Possibly because he's the only one with an economy to actually worry about.

Although despite the tougher measures Scottish and Welsh never seem to end up any better off, number wise. Seem to recall Drakefords touted "firebreak" not doing a lot of good in the long run

But Wales have had 'covid passports' to gain entry to nightclubs for weeks now.

By closing nightclubs is Drakeford acknowledging they don't actually work?

In their current form I agree they are pretty much useless.

Many things are solved by more than 1 step, or type of solution. And people typically prefer measures to be proportionate, similar to the lack of use of nuclear weapons in the last few decades, despite there having been several wars.

Well several scientific reports (inc ones done in UK) actually deemed them potentially more risky.

Hmmmm... not quite sure of the 'war' analogy hehe. But I know what you are saying!

Out last weekend and talking to a small group of people in the pub. A couple of them were boasting about their fake passports, even showed me the barcode on their phones. So no, they won’t work if open to abuse.

This is ridiculous. This virus is going to be with us next year and the year after and the year after .

They need to leave things open and as long as people have had their booster shots.

I guess that the only thing we can possibly do is forget about all preventative measures and just let people die. Once every person with pre-existing conditions is dead, every person who needs other types of hospital treatment but can't get in because all beds are full of covid cases is dead, every person who has been weakened again and again by multiple reinfections by multiple variants is dead, every person that needed electricity but the power system was off because too many workers were desperately ill is dead, etc... then if anyone is left it will be a complete return to normality. At least it will solve the climate crisis by getting rid of 50% of the population and returning civilization to pre-industrial status.

The PM said something like, we all have to do our own personal risk assessments.

Predictions are coming that we're risking disruption to or collapse of critical services.

Personally - my risk tolerance is a touch below that.

Totally agree. I’ve fallen out with 2 friends as they said they had just opened and scanned the QR on a LFT to register a PASS.

Lost my shit with them.
