"https://news.uga.edu/covid-affects-male-fertility Covid isn't just about deaths... I wonder if headlines like this will help get some "I'm fit and young" vaccine reluctant guys over the line? " I take it you didn't read that article fully then?

" I take it you didn't read that article fully then?" I did, and I don't see how the OP is wrong. (Except I think most "I'm healthy" people will assume it can't happen to them)

"Well, the article itself has a different title to the shortened title thats in the web link. The article is actually titled “*Could*covid affect fertility?” And the article concludes that “the outcomes are still unconfirmed” And they wonder why so many people are becoming sceptical of the media and science... " People want the whole conclusion from the hyperlink? That's not a problem with the media or science, that's a problem with people ![]()

I take it you didn't read that article fully then?" tbh I went to the paper and then the conclusion Although little research has investigated effects on male fertility, several studies have reported SARS-CoV-2-induced orchitis, altered hormone levels, testicular damage and the possible presence of the virus in sperm. As increasing data indicate the long-term effects of COVID on other organ systems, long-term effects on the testis will also need to be examined. But my point was more of whether (if true etc) would it change minds...?

You asked if "headlines" like that would get vaccine reluctant guys to get vaccinated? If these "vaccine reluctant" guys are so-called "conspiracy theorists", then they'll be suspicious of the vaccine causing fertility issues down the line... And those on the fence, waiting for long term studies, will quite possibly still wait...

Could bring the only word that matters here. I thought it was only anti-vaxxers that were spreading misinformation… " How is it misinformation? The study is being conducted to see what the effects are and if it could cause a reduction in fertility. No one said it does only that it could meaning that there may be the potential for it to affect fertility the same as saying covid could infect any organ in the body hence the research that is ongoing into that aswell.

More studies are needed. It is early days in the science. But then, relatively speaking, we are in early days of Covid. Long terms issues will take a while to be identified and understood in any detail.
