We both had ours at 12:00 30/09/21 too early to say if we have any side effects our first two vaccinations were Astra Zeneca our booster was Pfizer. There was room on our new vaccinations record card for another booster we wondered if that might be for next year.

There's more sport to be had pouring fuel on the petrol crisis (see what I did there?).

I predict the next one will be Christmas puddings and sauvignon blanc... With perhaps a brief mention to a shortage of fireworks.

Is it a legal requirement for care homes staff to have the booster jab? I realise they must be double jabbed to work in a home but I just wondered if the booster was a legal requirement too.

The company I work for dismissed 5 staff members who didn't have there first jab by 16th September, one had worked there over 25 years,a rule for all no exceptions.

It would not surprise me if they do decide to make the boosters, part of the new requirements too.

I had my jabs January and march so I got a text invite as over 6 months ago,my booster jab is to be given next week

No doubt we will get a demanding notification soon from the company stating booster jab or no job,it's all about continuing care

We thought this might happen we love our swinging holidays in Maspalomas Gran Canaria so as soon as we were offered the booster we took it. We had the same side effects as the first two vaccinations felt a little lethargic for a couple of days and had a mildly sore arms.

I'm sure the Company looked into it, however can they legally do that???

It's personal choice at the end of the day, (whether you agree with it or not surely?) not a legal requirement?

Some people don't feel there's enough evidence, therefore waiting etc etc... Or even believe in vaccinations full stop.

I work with someone (NHS) who hasn't had any vaccinations and doesn't intend to. And yes we treat patients face to face.

I've just had my booster

I originally thought it was a personal choice... You know all that... Choices have consequences bs. But actually... Its become so it's not really a choice... Its become take it or miss out on jobs, opportunities, promotions, participation. The god awful adverts telling parents to "help their kids book their jabs so they don't miss out".... Perhaps if they said that vax centres are running out / run out of vaxes.... The great British public would be out in force, fighting eachother for their boosters, vaxes, and taking home a few spares in their handbags.... Just in case.

Unfortunately they can as they did with the 5 staff I said earlier, none of them have appealed as far as I know, one I know has applied for shop work as these rules don't apply

The company will let us know soon no doubt

We don't get a choice if want to work there, whether it's legal or not

I've had both mine, they were AstraZeneca. The third jab wouldn't bother me if it were AZ but I've been reading some reports in the medical press (NOT social media), that there are some reported possible strange effects on our innate immune system from mRNA vaccines. There seems to be some supression of immunity to virii like the Herpes virus and an increased susceptibility to Candida Albicans (thrush). These aren't peer reviewed YET but it does concern me slightly. I'm hoping I can get a third AZ shot.

It looks like an ongoing booster every 6 months, with vaccine passports to follow soon. Take a look at what’s happening in Israel.

Expect another Lockdown caused by lack of beds in the NHS, or something to do with climate change

I had my booster last Sunday 1pm, 6 days ago. All 3 were Pfizer. I felt fine for the rest of the day. My arm began to get very sore through the night, and I felt a bit all round delicate the next day, but then completely fine by 6pm that day, the after effects suddenly ending just light a switch. Exactly the same reaction for all 3 jabs. Glad that's out of the way.

It's 6 months after your second one.

The virologist on Breakfast this morning said they want everyone topped up for over winter as that's the most likely time for it to spread more, look at the peak that happened last January.

Wow I had never heard of project veritas before. They have a lot of very rich and very powerful right wing conservative people funding them. Yeah, it's interesting how many of these organisations are popping up to spread "information".

"It's 6 months after your second one.

The virologist on Breakfast this morning said they want everyone topped up for over winter as that's the most likely time for it to spread more, look at the peak that happened last January. "

It's a pity that many people won't hit their 6 months' eligibility until almost spring.

My NHS app gives coverage until the very day that 6 months arrive, presumably making international travel harder.

"Is it a legal requirement for care homes staff to have the booster jab? I realise they must be double jabbed to work in a home but I just wondered if the booster was a legal requirement too.

The company I work for dismissed 5 staff members who didn't have there first jab by 16th September, one had worked there over 25 years,a rule for all no exceptions.

It would not surprise me if they do decide to make the boosters, part of the new requirements too.

I had my jabs January and march so I got a text invite as over 6 months ago,my booster jab is to be given next week

No doubt we will get a demanding notification soon from the company stating booster jab or no job,it's all about continuing care

"

It is still a personal choice, in my opinion. As is working in care or other settings that require people to be vaccinated. Nobody is twisting my arm and making me get vaccinated. But as I like my job and don't fancy looking for another one, I made my own choice to take what's offered.

A typo would be something like son instead of won... if one was a simple keyboard accident it was a very unlucky and unlikely won

Once 6 months is up from your second jab, you should get a message from NHS inviting you to book your appointment.

The NHS have just sent a text message, as they did with the first 2 dosees, which had a link to the booking system and details of how to book the booster appointment. It was really easy and clear.

It makes sense that they're sent when people are due to get the jab, so most of us won't hear anything for ages

Where I volunteer we do walk-ins as well. But for booster (walk-ins) you need to be outside 6 months from last jab. If you have a Vaccination card with the date you can walk right in and recieve it. I'm sure there are many places around the UK that do the same...

Have had two Pfizer doses after my clinical trial doses. First Pfizer dose, a bit fatigued for a few hours and a sore arm. So far with second Pfizer dose, quite a sore arm, nothing else. Whatever they gave me in the trial (not a placebo) was way worse (although nothing beyond a few days)

I'll take advice on whether to take an official booster, as five actual doses seems excessive.

Hady booster early in November. Wife's was fue early December but stuck in quarantine after returning from South Africa. We phoned to ask if the NHS service part of the quarantine could do anything and could have arranged it but we got released after negative tests. She went to walk on yesterday. Finally persuaded my daughter to get her boost at a walk in this morning.

"What they need to be telling us is how many people have been hospitalized with COVID who have had a booster. "

Why? What would it tell you?

Loads is the answer as loads have now had the booster.

More interested in how many are completely unvaccinated. The unvaccinated is a reducing number so a lot of them ending up in hospital would :

1. Strongly suggest the vaccines are effective

2. Arguably be self-inflicted and some would say enable health chiefs to invoice them for what some would further say is their selfishness

I think 30,000 or so yesterday had their first jab. What took them so long and why now? Are they all children? Some more info like this would be useful?

This whole “the unvaccinated shouldn’t get or should pay* for medical treatment” gets wheeled out regularly without considering what that truly means.

We have had Covid in the world for two years. It hit the UK (as far as we know) in Feb/Mar 2020.

We KNOW that people who smoke or people who are overweight/obese are at significantly higher risk of getting serious Covid symptoms and ending up hospitalised, needing ICU or dying.

And yet how many people have taken personal responsibility over the last 12-18mths to give up smoking, lose weight, get fit, improve their diet, reduce alcohol consumption etc?

Are you proposing withholding (or charging) medical treatment from them? After all that is self-inflicted too!

*If you want to start charging then how will you reconcile all the tax/NI each person has already paid into the system? Will this be offset against how much use of the NHS each person has previously made in their life?

BTW saying this as a vaxxed person.

Why would that information be useful to you? To allow people to further divide and make I'll informed judgements of others.. And argue about other people's health choices.?

But I agree having better quality information available about the risks and benefits by risk factor would certainly be helpful to allow people to make better decisions for themselves, and better supported policy decisions too.

Also hardly anyone on these forums are mentioning the ever increasingly number of hospitalisations caused from adverse reactions to the COVID-19 jab and what a burden on the NHS that is actually causing. That is also unprecedented too. This Jab has caused more side affects than what is actually being reported or recorded. Heart attacks in young healthy individuals, athletes, footballers, myocarditis, pericarditis

are at an all time high since the rollout of the jab and no it’s not coincidence, miscarriages have soared, strokes, blood clots, Bell’s palsy have gone up, I could go on and on. The NHS have never experienced so many vaccine side affects like this one before but hardly get mentioned in the news, media, totally hushed up. Isn’t that also cause for concern too! The unvaccinated are used as the scapegoat!

"Also hardly anyone on these forums are mentioning the ever increasingly number of hospitalisations caused from adverse reactions to the COVID-19 jab and what a burden on the NHS that is actually causing.

I've read more reports of "harm of vaccine" on this forum than anywhere else put together.

I'll of course give such reports the weight I feel is merited.

We need infographics that demonstrate comparative risk (not complex data published the majority either cannot understand or do not have the time to decipher).

Both Covid (if you catch it) and vaccines (if you are injected) have risks. But how do they compare? (That’s rhetorical BTW). Explain that to people. Don’t make it look as if you are hiding the risks of the vaccines as that just plays to anti-vax conspiracies. Be up front and EXPLAIN!

Trust in Govt is at an all time low. So win back hearts and minds!

I’m not anti vac by the way. I very proudly queued to get mine and marvelled at the people helping. I am holding off on the booster until I’ve discussed results of recent tests with my doctor.

I didn't say otherwise.

I've evaluated the risks for myself, have personal experience of visiting a (youngish and formerly healthy) family member on life support as a direct result of a vaccination (diagnosed as such).

I've had four Covid jabs (officially two) and have no objections to having more.

"2. Arguably be self-inflicted and some would say enable health chiefs to invoice them for what some would further say is their selfishness

BTW saying this as a vaxxed person."

I'm not proposing any such things. As I said, some will say this but I am not amongst them. Many health issues could be filed under 'self-inflicted', including sports injuries, car accident injuries through speeding etc, so it would be unfair and unworkable.

Why have a virus section and then censor it?

Can understand why if people introduced the subject in the swinging sections but not in the virus section, surely that's what the section was created for?

"According to the science, vaccinations only work if you show proof of having had it.

According to the politics, my first two vaccines didn't count (I got them on a clinical trial and there's no way to join it all up). But that's not a science thing, that's a crappy politicians not getting their act together thing.

So I had to choose whether to appear unvaccinated or go get my NHS jabs. Fortunately the preliminary results for the trial I was on have come out, and whatever I got, it worked as well as an approved vaccine.

Science and government/admin aren't the same thing, clearly.

I'd been thinking it was quite the opposite.

I linked to a peer reviewed scientific journal in response to the often repeated claims on here that masks don't work etc.

Link was removed and I got a ban. Apparently the American Journal of Medicine doesn't qualify as a 'well recognised site' but News of the World and Love Honey do

I didn't know what vaccine I was given, but it was a no placebo trial. I was given Oxford AZ or the vaccine candidate (which they say is better than Oxford AZ, but yet to be published).

I should have been told, but I haven't been. On the basis of my side profile I guess I had Oxford AZ. (My NHS doses have been Pfizer)
