I hope she recovers and we don't inflict this upon too many other people.

"I hope she recovers and we don't inflict this upon too many other people."

'We' aren't inflicting anything on anyone. It's a natural disaster.

Ssshhh, you can’t say that, it’s all these nasty people being normal living their life that are killing people…

To be fair, if someone gets infected and then passes it on to others, they ARE inflicting it on people. The school I work in had a large outbreak, because one student's mum continued to send all her kids to school after she had a positive test... literally dozens of kids between our school and the primary school some of which were really sick.

Like any infectious disease ever. Yet no one ever accused people of inflicting flu, norovirus etc on others, even if they went out ill…

But I do agree that it’s silly to do what that lady did when she was covid positive. That was stupid.

On the contrary, we had a member of staff who was disaplined for comming into work with flu and infecting three other teachers, it cost the school loads in supply.

Disciplined for coming into work with flu? Can’t say I’ve ever heard that, but fair enough.

My point was made in general terms anyway, rather than a specific circumstance.

It is amazing how it effects people so differently. Two of our teachers had positive tests in the first day of Easter holidays, one (55 year old overweight lady smoker) was mildly ill and returned to work after the holidays. The other (46 year old slim healthy non-smoker) returned on light duties in mid July and is still unable to climb a flight of stairs without help. He had to use a classroom on the ground-floor, and only worked mornings.

After months and months, today I finally got to see some specialists at a long covid clinic. Blood tests, lung capacity tests, walking, siting and standing, a CT scan etc. All done.

My weight has gone up and fatigue bad depending on the weather and many other reasons. Been told I need to up my exercise a tiny bit at a time.

Also been given something to record my breathing plus a long read of things to try out.

It's a bitch!! Christ knows how I'd get on if I managed to have sex

Flu can indeed be nasty, especially for the elderly and already immune system compromised

"And your point is? "

No point. I just wanted to post a pointless post.

If you believe there is no point for such post, maybe you should read carefully the comments of the people in the post who suffered or are still suffering from long covid.

If after that you still see no point, you can always post something like there is no covid or covid causes only harm to the economy but not to people’s health.
