Weight has gone up since having covid. Mainly from doing little exercise as my lungs were shot to bits as well.

Anyone else having the same hassles?

Yep

I was told to exercise from my specialist.

I have arthritis in my knees and a hip, plus painful bones in the feet.

He still told me to do something!

No mercy!

From the land of haribos.

Not at all. I still have my 6pack. I always eat at maintenance level, as doing it this way allows one to maingain the same time

My wife used to swim a lot prior to covid but she can’t get her breath now and has gone from 8’11 to 11’2

Like a lot of you. I have been far to lazy sat on my ass putting on weight. My knee and leg muscles had got so week it was painful to walk. But I have been doing leg exercises for the past month to give the muscles around my knees more density to stop them from clicking like a grandfather clock. And it tones up your tummy also.

Piled on some weight too. I used to go swimming a lot, but I'm too nervous to do that now. Coincidentally I started a health regime last week to lose a bit of the weight. Cut back on the alcohol, eat more healthily...

I crept back up to just below 11 stone so i have half a stone at least to lose. I keep on aiming for the wrong type of 6 pack though!

I've put on about a stone. but Its starting to come off as the hot weather arrives. plus the nature of my job helps me loose it too. hoping to be back to my regular weight by the end of July.

(that's 40st if your interested)

If you’ve had Covid and now have trouble exercising then I feel for you, must be hard. Especially when you are being advised to exercise!

As far as I know neither me or Mrs B have had Covid (though back near the start we were both a bit ill but put in down to a bad cold, still none the wiser).

Throughout the 18mths we have stepped up our exercise (cardio mostly) and been really focused on a good diet supplemented by vitamins. Also reduced alcohol intake (not going out and not really drinking at home much). Weight has been relatively static but fitness levels definitely better for me (Mrs B has always been fitter than me).

Would you be nice enough to share those exercises with me. Whatever I'm doing isn't enough. Would love some help.

Thank you x

Yeah supplements are a must, no matter what the issues are!

As with most things it is about balance there are no quick fixes so don't get sucked into the weight loss industry and it many fad diets etc.

Combine exercise with eating healthy. There should be no reason to take supplements as most vitamins and minerals can and should be obtained through your food. During winter we will take a low dose of Vitamin D as the lack of sunlight and staying inside more limits our intake but once the spring/summer comes around it is stopped in favour of being outside for walks or lounging in the garden.

Depending how much your food budget covers; I'd always say add supplements too.

I have a vitamin D deficiency plus joint issues.

I can't do without them throughout the year and I love the sun.
