" unsure... perhaps it is the variant and that's why the delta variant is so much easier to pass around..after all it does belong to the same basic family as the common cold and that passes itself around so much due to sneezes and poor hygiene around sneezing... Sneezing is a useful symptom to cause - propels viral particles a lot further and more widely than coughing and only requires infection of the upper respiratory structures to achieve spread in the secreted droplets or aerosols. | |||

"Sounds very life threatening  "It's far less life threatening to fully vaccinated people, who are the ones experiencing the less severe symptoms. Which was the whole objective of the vaccines (to reduce incidence of severe disease and hospitalisation). | |||

"Sounds very life threatening "perhaps not to those that have had the vaccine but could well be to some others. Just highlighting that it seems to be changing, as we need to stay vigilante. I feel if my antihistamines stop the sneezing then I'm okay but then I also have regular tests both pcr and lft a week. | |||

Sneezing is more commonly reported with the common cold ... now the common cold is the same virus family as covid 19 but not the same virus. Covid 19 is much more serious | |||

"What about the people who following a clot have had a stroke" Well yes, blood clots and strokes are definitely complications that occur in some people suffering from Covid. Though I think this thread was supposed to be more about the early symptoms that can be used as diagnostics for Covid, rather than the myriad horrible ways that the disease can develop and kill or maim people. I remember Mrs KinkyCouple some time ago quoting actual figures for the dangers of clots and strokes associated with Covid, I couldn't tell you the numbers now, but it was pretty horrendous and another reason that made me want to get vaccinated at the earliest possible moment. | |||

From The Pharmaceutical Journal, article title "Risk of rare blood clot up to ten times higher in COVID-19 infection than after vaccination" cites an Oxford University study which demonstrates the incidence of cerebral sinus clots (the very rare ones associated very rarely with the vaccines) is approximately "39 in 1 million patients. This is 8–10 times higher than the risk associated with the COVID-19 vaccines currently in use, where CVT occurred in 4 in 1 million people who received one of the mRNA vaccines and in 5 in 1 million people who received the first dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine." Thromboembolism in general (blood clots of any type) "occur in up to one-third of patients with COVID-19, which are predominately pulmonary emboli, and are associated with more severe disease and increased mortality." From the BMJ/Thorax Journal, article entitled "COVID-19, immunothrombosis and venous thromboembolism: biological mechanisms." This is why regular LFTs are being recommended, as a way to try and capture some of the asymptomatic or those who think their sneezing is hayfever (yes, I know LTFs aren't being recommended for symptomatic people, but if you believe you have no COVID-19 symptoms and just hayfever.......) | |||

We have now seen 3 of the local school teachers find that they had covid. And it was only due to regular testing that they knew as they thought it was hayfever x | |||

" if it goes with antihistamines then it is probably hayfever.. however many are currently thinking its hayfever but then finding when they test that its covid. So it's worth testing just to make sure. ( as its free and takes 5mins at most) pcr test would be preferable but lft at a pinch | |||

Which unfortunately I could not personally differentiate from my hay-fever symptoms. This led me to be out and about a day or more than I should. The only indicator that made me feel otherwise was a splitting headache | |||
