The point of the vaccine is pretty self explanatory and has been evidenced by the drop in hospitalisation and deaths since Jan/Feb ..

The level of deaths in relation to the number of infections of the delta varient tend to indicate that those already vaccinated are affected less than those not and transmission is also cut..

We have 2 tools to reduce the level of problems - vaccines or restrictions. Both are effective. If you have engaged with either, you will likely have noticed the benefits. More importantly, for millions of people, the benefits are substantial and we have progressed to the point where we are almost able to relax most restrictions and public engagement with helping society to get back on track is very high, despite a minority of vocal opponents who occasionally get disruptive and spread falsehoods at times, to the detriment of everyone

Not difficult to understand.

People are still catching C19.

People are catching the many variants of C19.

Many of those fully vaccinated haven't yet passed the time it takes for the vaccine to be fully effective.

We have not yet vaccinated those who can be.

Some people are still not wearing masks.

Some people are still not social distancing.

Because the number of new cases is going up every day. Not down.

We are in a runaway bus on a downhill slope. The driver has been stamping on the brake as hard as he can for the last 18 months. Every time the bus gets down to less than 10 miles per hour, the passengers shout at the driver and make him take his foot off the brake. "It's going slow enough now, it's going to stop on it's own!". But the slope is still downhill, and not surprisingly the bus starts picking up speed again. The passengers shout "you can't know it's still downhill, don't you dare step on the brake again, it's only going a little bit faster, it's definitely going to stop on it's own". Then they suddenly realise that it's back up to 95 mph and the hill is getting steeper.

One of these days we're going to realise that when it was down to 5 mph we could have stopped it easily. But instead we're up to 105, the brakes are worn out, and there's no way now we can avoid going over the cliff edge.

Moral of the story - sometimes the driver just wants to stop the bus, it's not some conspiracy to hold the passengers hostage on board forever.

Also - taking your foot off the brake can kill you, if the road is still going downwards towards a cliff.

None of her decisions have consistency, she is all over the place.

Yes, cases are rising, but deaths and ICU admissions are not rising anything like before thanks to the vaccine and the fact that those not vaccinated yet are young and not likely to have serious illness/death.

No reason not to open up 100% right now.

Anyone saying otherwise just believes the media doom mongering.

Lockdown is far far far worse than the virus now.

More deadly variants have always been a myth.
