Seriously... What do people expect.? We want leaders. We want leaders to work together with other leaders. There's nothing to say we need them to be miserable whilst doing it.

Secondly, why the fuck does anyone want to see footage of people having a bbq?

I have to work with my team socially distanced. Leaders set examples.

I am merely asking what people think after watching the world's leaders actions at the G7. Specially after what we have been told to endure

Presumably though you maintain social distancing at your work for your benefit so that you reduce the risk of catching or passing on the infection? Not because it's something you saw someone else doing?

They haven't cancelled foreign aid!

Its still at 0.7% of GDP but the Government wants to reduce it to 0.5% for a year.

I would say they are all pretty much the exception given it's guaranteed they all had two jabs and tested..given all the various rules etc that's about as close to 'safe' as they are going to get..so I'm okay about them all working together and relaxing together..kind of reinforces how relatively easy life could be if everyone got their jabs..

but not everyone will of course

It was a little over done.....sorry.

I suppose they've got to eat and drink.

If you're near a beach it's logical you would have it on the beach.

Was there any play afterwards or was it just a social. Did Joe give Angela one.

I haven't seen it because I don't watch the news.

But it is a good thing surely?

We are being encouraged to meet outdoors because the virus is transmitted less that way, and does not linger in or travel in the air like it does indoors.

So the leaders are leading by example, by eating outdoors and not inside.

I don't really see the problem here.

Sonyou didn't see the bit at the bar indoors then.

I was just wondering what people's views where.

In this thread someone asked what have we endured. Another made comment on bread and water and another on fish they were eating. Another thought this was a pop at Johnson.

Fair enough.

What has happened is leaders from around the world have landed on our shores. No social distancing, no masks....regardless of vacc status we are advised to wear them and to distance. No rules followed.

These world leaders. Ps... Our current restrictions remain in place whilst this happens.

However they ate fish, drank water and had cuddles and hand shakes. Indoors and out. They are the leaders so it is OK it seems.

Sorry, were these leaders at a supermarket or on public transport while having their BBQ?

Not aware of mandatory mask usage elsewhere?

They all had rigorous testing prior to meeting.

As did all staff.

They met nobody else for the entire duration of of their stay.

It was a completely controlled environment.

Surely even you can see that common sense has to prevail.

It’s nothing like going to a barbecue at your mates , where you don’t know who has been tested and who hasn’t. And where, incidentally, you’d not be expected to wear a mask.

Get over yourself.

It’s not like the G7 summit isn’t important enough to merit actually talking face to face, is it? I mean, it’s almost of exactly the same importance as Dave and his sales team having a catch up on forecasts for surfboard sales. The G7 are only dealing with global warming, famine and aid, after all…

Go to www.g7uk.org and click policy priorities.

If you can’t see something there that you think isn’t important enough to warrant having a face to face gathering of global leaders, then I don’t know what would ever be.

To be fair I think a huge majority of Cornwall had a BBQ that day and evry day of this fine weather all without masks but with no prior testing and most would have had a drink or two then hugged and kissed their friends and families!

Really cannot see a problem ...

This just feels like an argument looking for a home... They (and especially bj) have done plenty of things deserving of criticism. But world leaders meeting to make the world a better place and talking to eachother... No different to any spoons on a Friday night.. I don't personally think there is anything wrong in it. I'm not sure what it is you'd have them do?
