Had 2nd jab early May. One month earlier I had my BP taken at doctors, all was normal. A week later after jab, BP taken again at a private medical, it was 170/96! I was shocked. Took my own BP reading before bed, gone too 200+! Rang doctors next day, did BP there and then 195. Doctor asked, keep a record of, xsee what's going on. Today talking to a couple of guys, who also went for 2nd jabs, both have said their BP has gone up significantly. Don't want to be an alarmist, but...

Manchester (she/her)

Report on the yellow card scheme.

If it's a thing, and people report it, it'll come out.

The GP should have done a bp check with their machine and again in 24 hours, then if still high put you on some medication if second reading still high..

If it's still high speak to them again..

Suggest you buy a home BP test cuff, from Boots or similar, and track for the next week, taking reading 3 times a day, then take that data to your GP.

Isolated BP figures don't tell the whole story.

I assume that you generally have issues with blood pressure? I would assume that most who have had the Pfizer jab would not have has their BP checked at all.

I hope that you stabilise soon.

Do it yourself over a few days morning and evening whilst resting. Not the figures down and report to gp. That’s what I do as stepping foot in the doctors sends mine high. They may ask you to wear a blood pressure thing for 24hrs

GP will average out your readings. Normally

Take two readings 5 minutes apart twice a day. Make sure you you’re in the correct position and that the cuff is on properly with your arm resting as instructed in the leaflet with your monitor.

The responsibility lies with your GP who is managing your condition, which they will want to return to a healthy state and also interpret its cause. Obviously with 2 billion doses administered now and with people having complex lives and health levels, that many things are coincidences.

At least we have observations and the vaccines under the most intense scrutiny ever
