Best to ask your doctor - they're looking into it but they don't know, last I heard

This is true. Research is underway but nothing approved yet in terms of mixing.

Also if someone has had serious side effects from jab 1, far less likely to get them from jab 2 x

The benefits from 2 of the same are researched and unknown, unlike that of mixing them. Chat with your GP, who can evaluate based on your circumstances. Did you report your serious side effects?

There have been several studies investigating how different vaccines interact.

I haven't seen much in the way of results apart from that when mixing vaccines, the second dose is more likely to result in adverse reactions.

Studies are ongoing but initial data suggested having different types for first and second doses actually leads to more side effects.

The general consensus is that the AZ vaccine generates fewer side effects on the second dose. You won't acquire full protection from only 1 dose. I'd suggest speaking to your doctor (if you haven't already) about the side effects you had the first time and if they have any specific recommendations.

Thats not true at all.

Anyone with side effects is called into a hospital setting for their second.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Simple answer is no; at this time they will not mix.

Although there is an ongoing trial of mixing the vaccines, the results will not be back for a long time and the trial has only just kicked off.

I had the AZ and was ill for 3 days; I have long covid and it intensified it making the aches, headaches and fatigue far far worse than normal... i felt like i had covid again.

I was dreading the second dose, i booked it last Saturday, hoping the long weekend would give me time to get over it..

What a waste of a weekend that turned out to be; at worst i had an aching arm for a day, and no plans for the best bankholiday weekend in years..

So don't worry that the second dose will make you ill, it probably won't.

This is also not true.

Majority of people have some side effects although nothing of concern. Hospitals couldn't cope with 2nd jabs if that was the case

NHS England and the Joint Vaccination Committee say if someone has already received an AZ vaccination they can have their second, whatever their age.
