"You're only allowed a certain opinion on here? And if its not the right one you're thick/dumb a troll or conspiracy theorist?"

Maybe it is because of fear and the emotions involved with people dying? We are all in the same boat though so arguments are not helpful

Is because its such an emotive issue and people come from such different perspectives. There are people who are just petrified, there are people who have been in the thick of it and have lost loved ones. Then there are people like me whose life has been barely touched by the horrors of covid and those for whom lockdown has had serious ill effects on their mental health. Add to that the seriously horny and the conspiracy theorists and its not hard to see why there is little room for people to see others points of view . This board is dominated by the first group which is why i rarely post.

couple, us we him her.

Because many are using it to vent their anti government anti establishment agenda and regardless of the evidence in front of them are ramming their anti everything views down the throats of people who are just trying to do the right thing, many are scared and confused and actually trust that the government is trying to help us and stop us from dying not poison and control us.

This has been the case from day one.

There's been people in here who have lost loved ones because people have refused or denied the virus protocols.

more seriously, sure everyone is entitled to an opinion but when it is based on youtube or social media fantasy, why shouldn’t people who have educated themselves with proper scientific knowledge correct them? particularly because on an open forum it too easy for that theory based in fantasy to be taken as truth by someone else and become a spread of false information

If you mean “Fear” of being wrong and the virus/vax is a conspiracy? Then all we non-conspiracy peoples are asking for the evidence that is predictably reproducible through scientific analysis.

If you mean “Fear” of a well constructed counter argument for the efficacy of lockdown/social distancing/national cost vs benefit/vaccine rollout/heard immunity theory etc then that’s probably people’s own unwillingness to learn. After all, when one closes their ears to new ideas they’ve closed their minds to new understandings

You're allowed to express your own opinions, subject to fab site and forum terms.

The fact that millions of people have been subjected to false claims throughout social media etc, which have very damaging repurcussions, including leading to the loss of many lives, probably hints at why there are strong responses from people.

1 needles infection is 1 too many and could be the source of a devastating mutation, making this virus more harmful to the world and its citizens. Economies, lives and well-being of all are at stake, each time anyone influences others and potentially causes such problems.

People are vulnerable and we all have a massive responsibility to care for all, not just ourselves. I don't know what opinions the OP was concerned about but most right thinking people now understand the real issues that we could still face in the future, should the wrong things happen.

"You're only allowed a certain opinion on here? And if its not the right one you're thick/dumb a troll or conspiracy theorist?"

I think the key word is opinion. Everyone should have their own opinions and views and feel safe to air them as such. There are always a lot of opinions aired as fact in online forums, which can lead to misinformation being shared and in some cases, serious consequences.

Is something is stated as fact, back it up with source or reason. If it's an opinion, say so. Opinions can be changed by facts, 'facts' can be created by opinions.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion. However, everyone is not entitled to give an opinion without any comeback..

Not many people see that in this world today and expect everyone to be nice and avoid hurting peoples feelings.

People weirdly seem to want or even demand to be allowed to say whatever they want without any chance of comment made about it? That's negative or otherwise! ..bluntly if you say something someone thinks is a load of shit you have to expect that someone out there is going to tell you so..

It's fine having an opinion but when your opinion is based upon crackpot conspiracy theorists, facebook posts, easily disproven nonsense and has the potential to cause serious damage to people and our country, people will have something to say.

This isn't a simple, harmless thing, it's a real, dangerous virus that has killed millions worldwide, telling someone that it's not real or that you don't need the vaccine after they have seen the devastation caused, is at best insensitive and a kick in the teeth.

The current bunch of morally bankrupt opportunists in the UK Govt pushing the vaccine because it will make them, their families and their cronies rich is not mutually exclusive from the vaccines also having a positive effect on cutting the severity of infection, reducing transmission (due to reduced viral load) and helping get back towards some normality.

It is possible for vaccines to be a good thing while being delivered against a background of unprecedented (in UK) corruption.

It is also possible for the vaccines to provide short term benefits while not knowing whether there are going to be long term health issues associated with them.

None of this is binary. None of this is black & white.

Yes or “hey joe public feel free to ignore the £billions we have syphoned off from HM Treasury (your tax money) to enrich ourselves, family and friends, and look over here at the success of the vaccines”

Or “yeah yeah we know we flip flapped around, gave mixed messaging, failed to close our borders, stop flights or impose strict quarantine rules on entrants, allowed our mates to ignore the rules while lambasting all of you for doing the same, created an environment of finger pointing and intolerance, developed a completely useless test & trace system, insisted care homes take untested patients from hospitals (basically euthanasing the oldies), had front line health and care workers dressed in bin bags (cos we ignored the 2016 Cygnus exercise)... BUT look at our vaccine programme! Aren’t we wonderful! P.S. we’re increasing your taxes”

It is also possible for the vaccines to provide short term benefits while not knowing whether there are going to be long term health issues associated with them.

None of this is binary. None of this is black & white.

I'll largely agree with this, although my edit would be "corrupt politicians hoping that vaccines will be get out of jail free cards for their deadly incompetence"

P.S. we’re increasing your taxes”"

..Well said.

That is right. I have also noticed that, it seems that with covid, you can just have 1 view, but it is ok with politics to say more what you want.

"It's fine having an opinion but when your opinion is based upon crackpot conspiracy theorists, facebook posts, easily disproven nonsense and has the potential to cause serious damage to people and our country, people will have something to say.

This isn't a simple, harmless thing, it's a real, dangerous virus that has killed millions worldwide, telling someone that it's not real or that you don't need the vaccine after they have seen the devastation caused, is at best insensitive and a kick in the teeth.

Sure! But to name call for just saying for example someone is not having the vax is wrong and unnecessary! And it has happened I've seen it on these threads! X"

It really depends, calling someone selfish for not having the vaccine is not name calling, but calling someone a sheep is.

There is bad on both sides.

"because opinions are like arseholes ... everyone has one ... but much like arseholes some of them are full of shit

more seriously, sure everyone is entitled to an opinion but when it is based on youtube or social media fantasy, why shouldn’t people who have educated themselves with proper scientific knowledge correct them? particularly because on an open forum it too easy for that theory based in fantasy to be taken as truth by someone else and become a spread of false information It's all based on YouTube and social media because the government and the media won't debate it, all we hear is we are right do as we say. If anyone says anything different to their views they are shut down, and people wonder why there's so much so

called information?

*because the government and the media won’t debate fake news - it would be beyond irresponsible

Hahaha, the media is MASSIVELY dominated by fake news!!"

Because everyone likes to think they are intelligent and flawless in their thought process and that anyone with a different opinion is clearly beyond stupidity

For instance, I'm not anti Vax and have made sureu son had had his recent HPV, diptheria and meningitis jabs in school, but I wouldn't give him the Covid jab, and I'm not having it myself. Not yet. I'm not saying never, I'm just not having it quite yet

But people worrying about having tracking chips injected in them while they carry mobile phones with them everywhere are definitely a bit silly lol

"You're only allowed a certain opinion on here? And if its not the right one you're thick/dumb a troll or conspiracy theorist?"

You must comply even by force if necessary. Assimilation is the new social norms.

Well it didn't stop them reporting on the fact that Iraq didn't have weapons of mass destruction....which resulted in the loss of hundreds of thousands of innocent lives....RIP Dr David Kelly."

Not quite, I remember the Marsh Arabs and Northern villages getting a taste of them in the 80's. Just because they did not find them, does not mean he didn't have them. It maybe a case of them not being found yet. Not as saddam would put them out for all to see.
