Here is the short term adverse reaction data for the 2 main Covid jabs reported through the Yellow card scheme. This is entirely voluntary and therefore common sense, and received wisdom, tells us there is gross under-reporting.

The data is updated weekly at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-adverse-reactions

Report 13th May 2021

Pfizer – Total adverse reactions 165986 and 374 deaths

AstraZenica - Total adverse reactions 650681 and 786 deaths

For obvious reasons the long term adverse effects remain unknown.

Double Pfizered. Barely noticed slightly tight feeling like a muscle knot for about 24 hours in both cases. Indeed I forgot I'd been jabbed.

Among friends and family most have now had at least one jab of either Pfizer or AstraZeneca. Side effects range from nothing to being ill for a few days. Doesn't seem to relate to age or medical conditions. Though friends who probably had covid a year or so ago seem to be worse affected.

Az first Sunday, just sore at entry where needle went in sore for 3 days but found more movement helps ease this so I did few sets with the dumbbells biceps this helps with circulation and help repair any discomfort as the vaccine is given in the muscle.

Have had both my AZ doses now. Really poorly after the first, 2nd day felt awful, high temp headache, fatigue and muscle pains for 4 days. 10 days post vaccine got injection site infection and needed antibiotics. 2nd vaccine felt just the same from day 2 for 4 days. On day 10 fatigue and muscle pains for 4 days. Fine now tho. Tbh not a great experience, but I'd do it all again.????

If thoughs stats are taken directly from the vaccine side effects reporting website then literally anyone can go on it and report anything they wish. I took a look on it a few weeks ago and I could have written anything I wanted or said someone's died using tick boxes.

Had Astra Zeneca yesterday evening, felt fine this morning but it hit me like a sledgehammer midday, face flushed red, chills, shakes, headache and tiredness.

Thought I’d got away with any side effects but this is pretty bad.

This is reasonably typical, especially in the younger age groups. It generally lasts about a day then abruptly stops.

The fantastic news is that what may seem a little bit like an illness is just our healthy immune system at work.

Hold on to the memory for when you are next ill, that what you think is illness may mostly be your immune system, not an infection.

You are correct.

For example. When you have a fever it's your body increasing it's temperature to denature a virus or bacteria as an immune response.

And no indication of number of what type of vaccine have been given in relation to the figures above. If they did, suddenly the AZ looks like a better vaccine compared to the Pfizer.

Feel free to do the Maths!

This safety update report is based on detailed analysis of data up to 12 May 2021. At this date, an estimated 11.7 million first doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and 23.9 million first doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca had been administered, and around 9.9 million and 9.0 million second doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca respectively. An approximate 0.2 million first doses of the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna have also now been administered.

As of 12 May 2021, for the UK, 58,065 Yellow Cards have been reported for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, 175,057 have been reported for the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, 1,462 for the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna and 639 have been reported where the brand of the vaccine was not specified.

I had a guy tell me today he had a really bad cold, tummy upset after the first vaccine. He said this in response to a question about side effects after the first dose. He then followed up by saying his grandchild was also ill with similar symptoms. Now, it's more than likely his symptoms were of a bug caught from the grandchild, but was being attributed to the vaccine because he'd had it in that time frame. This is the issue with the yellow card reports - anyone can report anything, irrespective of whether it's actually related to the vaccine or not.
