The Government has confirmed that “friendly, intimate contact" will be allowed from May 17. So does that mean we can start meets again?

I'll only believe it when Chris Whtty or JVT comes on the news and says ok for pubs to open, ok to attend funerals but maximum 30 people and ok to commence dogging but a maximum of 10 fellas to 1 lady until further notice.

If any of you are interested, JVT and I act as a tag team most Saturday nights after dark.

So ‘friendly intimate contact’ is allowed and meeting up to 6 people indoors will be allowed but not shagging?

“And without prejudice to a broader review of social distancing, it is also the case that friendly contact, intimate contact, between friends and family is something we want to see restored.”

Seems clear enough to me that the Michael Gove, on behalf of the Government, is talking about people already known to one another as friends and family. He doesn't mention strangers at any point in the interview.

Just means hugging relatives.. But not all the time.. People are still expected to be careful and even then light hugging not face to face

So they are absolutely not suggesting ' intimate' contact or sex meets.. Just a CSE of hug your grandparents or your best mate..

Depends on your definition of a friend, and intimate contact. Gove did say friendly contact, intimate contact as 2 separate things....

For me, I'd be happy to. But with people I know, trust and have played with before. They're friends after all.

"Nope. It's like, hug your grandma."

Spot on. JVT/SAGE have briefly backed this up with hugging older relatives (ones fully vaccinated) and young children (lower risk) would i.e. be permitted.

For ones not vaccinated, it could be a potential risk as they are the ones more than likely socialising more, or seeing more people in their everyday life

thats what i was thinking , like young couples that still live with their parents or couples where both had flatmates so couldn’t bubble , not that i believe they have stayed away from each other for over a year and who could expect them too, but this would mean it was no longer against the rules

It's even better over on FabGuys, click on the "COVID-19 Virtual Meets" link and it just tells you "Forum post deleted." The lack of updates from Admin, plus the continuing threat of being banned for breaking the government's Covid rules is confusing to say the least.

According to the BBC, saunas can reopen from the 17th. Presumably that includes the likes of Dolphin, Northwich, and various other gay saunas, where people will no doubt be jizzing over and into each other without a care. Distancing between households is now, it seems, advisory. So it strikes me that we should no longer be breaking the law if we meet for sex from the 17th, and should no longer risk being banned by Fab.

Let's face it, fucking doggy style is probably less of a transmission risk than giving someone a hug. Faces are probably about 1m apart, and one of you is facing the other way. Hell, if you really want to be careful, you could wear masks.

Some clarification from Admin wouldn't go amiss.

It's pointless trying to interpret what politicians say, they mislead at every opportunity and that includes in what they put out on gov.uk as advice, which has blatantly presented advice as legal fact when some was and other bits were blatantly not. The law will be available at legislation.gov.uk so you just need to read it, just as you can now if you want to know the current legal position, and you will then know what is legal and what is not. Then you have to apply your own morality and view of social acceptability on top of that, plus any local factors that may drive a need to not do things that are actually legal e.g. not visit your gran who is 95 and refuses to be jabbed. Then you can decide what you're going to do. All you will ever get here is further derivation of advice that may originate in law, but could be just someones view that may be biased, irrelevant, wrong, or actually could turn out to be very sensible advice in hindsight - but nevertheless is actually illegal at this moment!

Hugging with limited friends and family to be allowed . Where did you see the word ‘intimate’ used?!

Gov’s words on Andrew Marr show

“ Without prejudice to a broader review of social distancing, it is also the case that friendly contact, intimate contact, between friends and family is something that we want to see restored," "

Gove has cocked up his interviews loads of times so I would pay a single heed to his words.

He’s solely responsible for the “you’re allowed one hour of exercise” myth that people thought was a rule in lockdown one. He also said that children shouldn’t move between parents homes even though it was allowed.

That people should be getting back to work when the push was for work from home as much as possible. And said “yes” when asked if he could guarantee teachers were safe in schools, before saying two minutes later that the only safe place was at home.

He is the last person anyone should take as knowing the first clue about the guidelines he’s involved in creating!!

So according to legislation you can meet

In England and Scotland, you'll be able to meet indoors and stay at another person's household overnight from Monday.

The rules on close contact between friends are also being relaxed, which means you can have sex with someone outside of your household or support bubble.

I think now we are at that grey stage where it’s not recommended but you can if you want. I guess large parties are still of the radar. However if you want to meet a couple or another single you would be ok

I know my vaccine status and would happily share if asked . I probably wouldn’t ask for it if the person was over40 as I would assume that they have had at least first jab

As I only meet at weekends due to work, and I don’t accommodate (live with parents), i would only meet if I was away. I would say I would probably meet a play mate if I had either played with before or knew socially before before June if I was. Again lots of if buts and maybes. Happily meet for a social.

Example would someone be willing to meet based on first jab only, how do you ask someone to meet even in the current climate without offending someone

"Just a quick update on this.

If you are following the local Covid-19 guidance in your country/locality (as some rules are very location specific), as per our post above, that is OK.

This continues to be the case as governments update their guidelines. If you are choosing to meet in a way that follows the guidance at that time, there is no problem.

Admin"

Which means...if you are following the Gov guidelines, whatever they are at the time, then you are within site rules"

maybe you could suggest to admin to replace the thread with a new update thread where the same content you just posted is the first thing available to read

i know it only helps people who are currently too lazy to scroll to the bottom but it might mean you get a bit of peace and quiet from having to point people to it over and over

Some people are reading the post and not understanding it so it probably wouldn't help matters

"I feel like a parrot

Lol don't overthink it x

Overthink feeling like a parrot or that people don't seem to be able to understand the post ? "

Maybe a bit of both? x

"Meets aren't permitted until June 21st at the earliest

So ‘friendly intimate contact’ is allowed and meeting up to 6 people indoors will be allowed but not shagging? "

That’s right

Sorry that makes no sense. Pointing out what Admin have actually said when people are saying there is no update is not overthinking anything.

"“And without prejudice to a broader review of social distancing, it is also the case that friendly contact, intimate contact, between friends and family is something we want to see restored.”

Seems clear enough to me that the Michael Gove, on behalf of the Government, is talking about people already known to one another as friends and family. He doesn't mention strangers at any point in the interview."

So a long standing FWB? Where does that fit in the rules? So confusing

I’d feel more comfortable having a meet with a young, healthy guy on here than hugging certain family members who have chose not to vaccinate.

It’s always going to be open to interpretation and that’s why they do it.

If your comfortable and the other person is, it’s about calculated risk for me.

My family have been my bubble the entire time (single), so I’ll be back to meeting a couple of friends off here. My vanila friends have massive families and in laws to catch up with so no different
