so who else is cursing their “youth” if people with 2 vaccines get to go on holiday this summer

think it will be into november maybe by the time i have both and can get away

wonder how many snickers i have to eat to qualify for obesity co morbidity (any excuse for chocolate but kidding really)

I’ve just had a text from my gp. 2nd jab next Tuesday. I have an apartment booked in Spain for the first week in October.

That’s early enough for me. I don’t want to rub it in to much for you young uns

i think i will probably still wait , feel like with the way everything in india has gone wild its better to be sure i wont be bringing anything back , ill just have to get my sun fix from a tanning bed this year

Traffic light system countries announced later this week. There’ll be places to go on holiday whether vaccinated or not. A test will do.

Still no idea why I got mine. A wonky leg is not an at risk condition and they claimed in 2017 not to be able to find my heart murmur anymore! Oh well, I'd have had it anyway for volunteering so it doesn't really matter... I actually want to go and do a language immersion course but I think it'll be cancelled, unfortunately.

Not for me for a while yet.. Too many uncertainties about this thing re igniting out there for me .. India for one!

If it happens though I would think testing will be mandatory for everyone on the way out and on the way back again .. And probably follow up tests after a few weeks when back in UK will be part of the whole deal .. With any quarantine costs either in UK or abroad paid for by the tourist.

We will know more about it all soon enough anyway.

Foreign travel for any purpose is probably unwise this year, even if you have been double jabbed.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, we are currently at the end of the beginning; enough damage has currently been done, without new foreign strains being introduced.

Foreign travel is currently irresponsible.

We went last year even though our insurance specifically excluded any covid related claims. So we weren't covered for any medical or repatriation bills.

The risk was low so we took it.

Although the UK is a beautiful place to holiday there are way too many people here. Last year on the day there were 500,000 people on Bournemouth beach we saw 6 people in total in France. Most of them in the boulangerie when we bought a baguette.

the weather for me, change of scenery and the sun on my skin just relaxes me, not all that fussed about being out late at night to get d*unk when i go on my own anyway

A night time curfew wouldn't bother me as I would be going for a week of sunshine, sunbathing and swimming, not nightlife.
