The Church have written an open letter condemning vaccine passports in the UK because it will create a two tier division in society and pave the way for government spying and control. A company participating in a pilot vaccine passport cinema trial is being harassed by activists. In my world the church should leave the creating of chaos to the experts..

The church isn't unfamiliar with creating chaos though.

They're possibly trying to create some relevance today, knowing that there's fairly widespread opposition to the idea.

A vaccine passport doesn't enable spying or control. If everyone is vaccinated or exempt there will only be one tier.

The church as we know it is near extinction and the current census will expose the decline. They are one of the richest organisations yet always bleating about the church roof fund and asking us to donate to feed the poor when they alone could feed the poor. People in church are coming to realise that there are new gods on the block now.

Social Media, Reality TV, Apple and designer clothes. All of these are worshipped by the masses more than they worship the church..

I think you also need to distinguish between the author of the letter, and the congregants of any church. Who will very likely have nuanced or entirely different opinions but the over riding one I suspect is whatever they consider keeps them and theirs healthy wealthy and wise.

Churches generally tend to disagree with each other.. So this is a bit difficult to believe..

Though there is maybe a general agreement between every church that creating an obvious ' have not' social underclass may not be a good idea. That usually involves £ at the root of any decision making etc

However, again because the advantages of getting some kind of proof of being healthy far outweighs ' winging it' as strategy I can't see the church saying that..

This has nothing to do with people being poor? Tests are provided free? And are I believe due to be made cheaper for international travel etc..

The fact that A big family can't go and sun themselves on the Costa for a fortnight as it may incur some charges in my opinion isn't creating any form of underclass.. Let's face it booze, fags, , dodgy label sportswear and the like seems easy to find so why not a few quid to add for security checks?

It's not going to make much difference at all

Sorry OP but I think your post is maybe a bit false.. The church wouldn't say anything like that.. Unless they didn't understand the situation

And that's entirely possible I suppose as they have a past history of doing that for sure..

i think (but i may be wrong) that the OP does genuinely find these things online - its not false in terms of he just made it up, but it is usually based on clickbait headline from some fringe media outlet where the real story doesn’t quite match the headline - the racist cheese being another example from this week

Maybe the Church should first deal with the two tier system of 'Astonishing Wealth v's Astonishing Poverty' that they are so 'called' to assist before considering commenting on anything anyone else is doing.

"Endowment. The Church of England has a large endowment of £8.7 billion which generates approximately £1 billion a year in income (2019), this is their largest source of revenue."

"Bankers' best guesses about the Vatican's wealth put it at $10 billion to $15 billion. Of this wealth, Italian stockholdings alone run to $1.6 billion, 15% of the value of listed shares on the Italian market. The Vatican has big investments in banking, insurance, chemicals, steel, construction, real estate."

interestingly people always make out like the catholic church are vastly more wealthy than any other religion, but based on current exchange rates it would put them at £7.2billion to 10.8 which is broadly in line then with the church of england

also how on earth are they making 11.5% return per year

I'm not defending them nor saying that the various religions have done some shitty things down the ages. They've also done some good things. I'm objecting to the very glib and inaccurate statement that they are responsible for the majority of wars, slums and child harming throughout history. Its too easy to say inaccurate things like that. The war with the most casualties was about empire building and nothing to do with religion at all.

Slums the church of england through various shell companies own some of the most run down areas in the uk

And don t get us started on the child abuse. Too many church representatives have been found out but protected by the church on the hope the problem would go away.

The Church had a good go ..

atlantisEVOLUTION Swingers Club. Stoke.

The estimate for death in the name of religion is around 40 million in the last thousand years.

That's just a quick google scan non researched but many sources estimate at least 30 million.

We have to remember to that many of our wars were in the name of god. (whichever that one was at the time.).

Religion is regarded by the believers as true, by the inquisitive as nonsense and by politicians as very useful. The very thought that a ministry would challenge the concept of political science is just nuts?

If you have any doubt about God and revenue spend half an hour watching GOD TV and see how some ministries seek funding from those watching the box. The new buzz words are media missionaries! Or pay us a monthly stipend and God will love you.

When the churches give all their vast wealth to good causes, the leftfooters elect a black woman lesbian pope and all denominations come together to worship Linda Lusardi we may have something in common!

Until then I will continue to worship my deity on my wall which is a rather faded copy of the Sun (page 3) from 1984 showing Linda posing on a beach enjoy the Margate sun!

"A vaccine passport doesn't enable spying or control. If everyone is vaccinated or exempt there will only be one tier."

Erm no because medical choices are personal & cannot be forced or coerced.

Bear in mind this has a 99% survival rate and you cannot go zero covid, flu or any other damn thing because they are living beings that evolve, live with it.

Death especially in older ages i.e. 60+ the risk of death through some form of natural degradtion on the body occurs...guess what its natural for old people to die.

Humans are mortal, means you die at some point usually of a virus, disease or old age i.e body shutdown.

Quality of life? Being kept alive is not living. There is a difference.

The letter has been written to describe exactly this

Vax/non vax'd being seperate venues (if any to non vax'd) similar to those experienced in the past with white/black.

We really need to gt away from this homosapienophobia that has been created over the past year.

Btw it means thinking all humans are dangerous until proven healthy.

Healthy being an open ended term that can be driven by the next 'new pandemic' fear.

"Throught history man has always fought over land, resourses or because someone did not have the same religion (beliefs) as us.

If we could remove the last one from mankind i think the world may be a safer place"

That’s factually incorrect. The history of war is around 15,000 - 25,000 years only , for millions of years there was no such thing as war.

And wars are all about capital and resources not beliefs - man made things.

Multiple religions lived very happily together in places like Iraq for a long time until the west interfered in things it doesn’t understand

The church, should keep it's nose out of medicine as it did its best to silence Leonardo da Vinci and the rest of the renaissance.

If he was allowed to go public, would cancer be extinct by now?

That's why churches have lightening conductors on the roofs. Prayer doesn't work. Physics does.

"Before the church starts meddlimg in politics and trying to advise us how to live they need to get their own house in order. Religion and politics do not mix. Just look at what happens through history. For an organisation that preaches love harmony and peace they have been responsible for the majority of wars slums and child harming throughout history

Have they really? Or is that just an I'll informed and glib throw away line to get the mob charged up? Let's start with ww1 and ww2? Or the crimean or the boer...

Desert storm.... Vietnam... "

I assume that only the church are allowed to implant ways to control people then. Or perhaps only they want to be the ones that are allowed to offer a “passport” to a place based on someones actions.
