"Would it make sense to make these antibody tests readily available? maybe using parts of the, very much under used, test centres throughout the country. People could find out if they have the antibodies before they were vaccinated, then, if they had the antibodies, they wouldn’t need the vaccine and it could go to somebody else that does. The government could save a bit of money on vaccinations and give a lot of people, worried about the virus, some reassurances if they already have the antibodies. Just a thought... " The antibody tests have to be processed in a lab. The cost of doing it doesn't make sense when having the vaccine simply boosts and natural immunity and therefore can only be a good thing. In short, it's not worth doing it.

I’m not sure about that? This is not small numbers, we are talking massive numbers of people that may already have antibodies, either from having Covid or built up from having other coronaviruses. Meaning lots of people not exposed to the risk of vaccine. You also have the peace of mind factor, I’m sure a lot of people would like to know if they already had antibodies before taking any risk, no matter how small, from the vaccine.

"A study of 80 -99 year olds (165 total) showed that after 5 -6 weeks there was a high antibody response, 93% for Pfizer and 87% for AZ, from just the first jab which would indicate that the scientific advice on spacing between first and second jabs is correct and that the Government were right to pursue vaccinating as many people first rather than a second jab after 3 weeks. Encouragingly for the AZ vaccine, it has a 3 times stronger response in regards to T-cells over the Pfizer. T cells are thought to help in fighting more severe infection and against virus variants. People who have had a Coronavirus infection and also vaccinated had an antibody response 600 times higher which is encouraging as the second vaccine dose is hoped to initiate a similar response." And most of this information will be put on an obscure website for most people not to see as the media do not want us reading anything possitive incase we start to think they are only peddling doom and gloom. Please post this possitive information to as many friends and family as possible

There is certainly evidence that the vaccine can cause serious harm but not sure about the antibody test.

The vaccines are cheaper than doing mass antibody tests, which to be accurate require blood tests to be drawn from a vein by a medical professional, sent to a lab for analysis etc. The vaccines are as safe as any other type of medical intervention.

I’m sure the government could negotiate a good price, especially given the numbers they would be processing.. it was just a suggestion anyway... a idea for lessening the chances of somebody getting seriously hurt from a new vaccine.

"The chances of someone getting hurt from the vaccine is less than dieing in a plane crash but for arguements The possible blood clots for instance if link is proven 1 in 250k Female contraceptive 1 in 2k Dvt from flying 1 in 1k Dvt in general population 39/47 in 1 million Also Paracetamol has been banned in some states of the US as it has been proven to be carcinogenic and can cause cancer ? If you were to read every over the counter medications leaflet there are millions of possible side effects but billions are still taken day in day out. "

" Oh alright then, let’s just give it to anybody because there is risk in everything. Never mind that’s still in clinical trials, long term effects etc! Let’s not minimise the chances of somebody getting hurt from the vaccine... it doesn’t matter does it? that would be too much trouble. Just jab them up.. and if you don’t like it!! Tough! Cos that’s how we treat people nowadays.

So you propose an antidoy test which to be accurate needs to be a blood test taking up nhs resources and costs to take the blood and do the test. If negative more resources to then vaccinate. A basic lab test for normal bloods cost in the region of £25 each not to mention the time that would be taken out of nhs clinics to do this and cut down staff available to perform necessary blood tests. I dont think it at all feasible or practice to test everyone prior to vaccination.

It is referred to as acetaminophen and used widely. California has CONSIDERED labelling it as a carcinogen (Jan 2021). However the FDA states that it would be "false and misleading" to do so and illegal under federal law. Overall result - paracetamol/acetaminophen is not banned in the USA.

I’m sure they have plenty of staff not doing much at the moment, given routine ops etc aren’t happening, failing that The NHS could outsource the work, they are very good at that. The cost of the test would no doubt come down if it was rolled out on a large scale... ultimately it’s about lessening the risk from the vaccine, you could do this by not giving the vaccine to people that don’t need it.... this would actually save lives and protect the NHS! The antibody tests have to be processed in a lab. The cost of doing it doesn't make sense when having the vaccine simply boosts and natural immunity and therefore can only be a good thing. In short, it's not worth doing it. If the vaccine was 100% safe I’d agree with you... but it’s not. You would lessen the people exposed to the risk from the vaccine possibly? Surely that would be another, different test to do with clotting etc. no drug is 100% safe but risk factors so low that testing to exclude any or all would also not be financially worth doing. It would be more cost effective to spend the money on vaccines and vaccinate all rather than antibody tests to assess who needs vaccinating. You can access antibody tests privately I believe Are you aware of the costing related to each? I’m not but given the money spent on furlough it would probably be a drop in the ocean. Not sure if you are aware but The Government has a magic money tree. Regardless of the cost, just going round jabbing everyone up, whether they need it or not, with a vaccine still in medical trials, seems crazy to me. An antibody test is a lot safer than the vaccine... and I’d assume a lot cheaper. So you propose an antidoy test which to be accurate needs to be a blood test taking up nhs resources and costs to take the blood and do the test. If negative more resources to then vaccinate. I work in a gp surgery and I am non stop. Seeing 30 plus patients a day for bloods and routine tests. Have been right through the lockdown. Oh alright then, let’s just give it to anybody because there is risk in everything. Never mind that’s still in clinical trials, long term effects etc! Let’s not minimise the chances of somebody getting hurt from the vaccine... it doesn’t matter does it? that would be too much trouble. Just jab them up.. and if you don’t like it!! Tough! Cos that’s how we treat people nowadays." Are you also proposing that we test everyone before they get on a plane then to see if their blood is likely to clot and cause a DVT? We could do and that would save many more lives!

Also, Given the majority of elderly and vulnerable are now vaccinated, they can afford to slow the vaccination programme down a bit.

You also have the peace of mind factor, I’m sure a lot of people would like to know if they already had antibodies before taking any risk, no matter how small, from the vaccine. A basic lab test for normal bloods cost in the region of £25 each not to mention the time that would be taken out of nhs clinics to do this and cut down staff available to perform necessary blood tests. G I dont think it at all feasible or practice to test everyone prior to vaccination. NHS aren’t doing much work? Outsource to Bojo’s mates? Jesus you are just precious Precious about saving lives? Yes indeed I am. I just mean those doctors and nurses that aren’t carrying out routine ops could help out... oh and I didn’t mention anything about who they should outsource it to... both were just suggestions. Medics who haven't been doing their regular role have been redeployed, they aren't sitting having cocktails and canapés at home! No you’re quite, some have been put on furlough, they could get them back. Anyone employed by the public sector (teachers NHS doctors etx etc) is not able to be furloughed #justsaying You are wrong here I’m afraid, they can and are but don’t feel like you have to take my word for it, look it up." And I quote The government guidance says that where employers receive public funding for staff costs, and that funding is continuing, they would expect employers to use that money to continue to pay staff in the usual fashion – and correspondingly not furlough them. This also applies to non-public sector employers who receive public funding for staff costs.

Tough! Cos that’s how we treat people nowadays. Are you also proposing that we test everyone before they get on a plane then to see if their blood is likely to clot and cause a DVT? We could do and that would save many more lives!" If you were forcing people to get on a plane then I suppose they could. Sorry I don’t mean forcing... if you said ‘listen, if you wanna live your normal life you need to get on this plane’ then the people being put on the plane would be well within their rights to request it.

"Would it make sense to make these antibody tests readily available? maybe using parts of the, very much under used, test centres throughout the country.
