Isn't it going to be tricky for staff to keep a lid on people getting carried away ?

Especially if binge drinkers get out of hand

There are several things which will reduce the impact, obviously the fact that there will be fewer people at the pub & outside only. There will also be delays in getting served, so it will take people longer to get shit-faced.

Tend to agree, plus if it's table service only and limited numbers in groups it's easier to keep an eye on them initially..

Won't bother, rather go to aldi or lidl and get 20 quids worth... watch a film, eat lots of snacks.

If you goto the pub you pay 4 pound a pint, wait for that privilege ... then put up with screaming shits running around whilst the parents scream human rights

That's Bromsgrove for you

Not thinking of going to a drinking pub until fully jabbed.

Reality is that hardened drinkers are exactly the sort of people with less regard for their health, a higher proportion of whom will have turned down the vaccine.

Haven't people been doing that for months now anyway staying in and drinking.

£4 a pint is cheap. I’d be happy with that.

I have never been to a pub that had screaming children running around.

Mind you, I rarely drink during the day, so, maybe they are in bed by the time I hit the bar.

I would feel ripped off at £4 a pint. Over a quid less in some of the pubs here, and I don't mean spoons

All to do with the areas we live, type of places we visit and the brands we buy.

Personally, I'd rather see alcohol sales banned from shops & supermarkets. Restrict it to only "off-licence" and Pubs/clubs/restaurants etc... it would save the hospitality industry, maye the population more sociable and reduce the amount of invisible drinking.

Thats a good point. The supermarkets have had competition free alcohol sales for the best part of a year. Maybe hospitality had the same going forward.

How do you then let people who are shielding etc. Order beer , wine etc with their food shopping. Cost of ordering from off license etc. Would be more expensive , plus delivery cost. Unless buying in bulk with free delivery ?

Funny our attitude to licensed premises and alcohol.

Almost any other country... People can drink as generations of families calmly and socially without hating on kids or getting abusive and pissed. We seem to want to make them over 25s only... Fill me up and don't stop until I can't stand up.

Can't wait.

I think this will depend on the venue and customers really, and attitudes / culture of the place. Some are far too relaxed and some observe the rules perfectly to the letter.

Yes, some will have one hell of a time, it’s such a shame that not everyone can behave with respect to others.

Unsung heroes those in the hospitality sector, always working when others usually not and seeing many folks at their worsed.

Yes, nail on the head.

I remember being at a zoo in Munich one lunchtime and enjoying a litre of weisbier with my lunch with as little fuss as a coffee. If that was at Chester some would have been hanging off the cages by early afternoon.

Why consistently do people search to create new issues surrounding covid. People have been limited in their ability to socialise for an age... celebrate the easing of those restrictions and stop being so pre judged on their behaviour.

This isn’t a case of people breaking or bending rules to the detriment of others so just let it happen and involve or distance yourself from it as you see appropriate.
