So someone on here who told me I should meet him as the virus is fake news blocked me when I pointed out my cousin was 8 weeks in hospital with it and close friend's 47 year old brother died three days after contracting it (no underlying health issues).

Not that I would have went as far as blocking him but sometimes that button is a godsend!

Stay safe guys.

Sorry for your loss. A good friend of mine died aged 46. We were in school together from the age of 4. Total shock to me and everyone else. I’ve had two family members contract it too so anyone who says it’s a hoax is a total bellend. I’ve had my first dose and can’t wait to have my second on May 11th. I know that I won’t be immune to it but it gives me the best chance to overcome it. All of us still need to be so careful so I won’t be meeting anyone until it is all safe to do so

It’s a real virus but 99% are not affected by it, every year hayfever affects me worse than corona did when I caught that, should I self isolate in a clean room environment every spring and hope for the best?

Well if you was at risk of dying from hayfever then yes.

This I'm ok jack attitude is not going to help.

Just because your not affected by the virus doesn't mean that you shouldn't take precautions, you can still spread it.

OP, you're completely correct. The Covid deniers in my family brought the virus into my Grandad's house. He died. So did one of the deniers, yet the surviving denier still denies. Two people dead within a week, but it's all still a hoax apparently. Keep railing against the bullshitters....

I had covid and have had worse colds and in the shielding category.

Does that mean I think its all a fuss about nothing?

No absolutely not I'm just very thankful i didn't end up in the intensive care bed next to my healthy(before covid) 40 year old best friend who we very nearly lost as did her 3 young children.

She is still struggling 3 months on. The hay fever analogy doesn't work because I can't die from your hay fever.

How many people died last year around the world from hayfever?

Or nettle stings, dandruff or short sightedness

Good for you. Yes most people do survive but that doesn't mean they are all well.

There are a lot of the 99% survivors who will be suffering the after effects of covid for many years if not for their lifetime.

I am really glad you where ok but please stop brushing it off as though it is nothing because for a lot of people it has been life changing.
