"The virus will fade out just like when the common cold does eventually it's just one of those natural disasters us humans have faced be mindful climate change neglected the list is endless aids hasn't went away but doesn't bother many people and willing to infect others I don't think it will fade out and to compare it to the common cold is fanciful at best. I prefer to listen to people who know what they are talking about. Covid is here to stay, in time it will be just another virus we will in time learn to live with but it is a real threat " The thing about the common cold corona viruses, is that they spilled over hundreds or thousands of years ago. If that kind of adaptation does occur, it might not be in our lifetimes. An interesting new hypothesis is that Long Covid is a new ME/CFS. It's long been thought the latter resulted from a viral infection. It might be possible that for a subset of the population, common colds might not be so harmless, indeed might be the cause of long term conditions. I do hope that ME/CFS gets taken more seriously now - rather than long Covid patients being gaslighted with them.

I do think that when the majority of the world has been vaccinated though, covid will have very little impact and cease to be serious anymore. On a side note though... the "common cold" is any one of over 200 different viruses from at least 4 different virus families, so not really that common
