what's worse is a lot of this is the younger ones who are the ones who will fall fowl to there ours and their own waste in the future, they are meant to be the ones screaming for climate change protection methods.....not making a worse mess with....of course plastic!!

I cannot stand litter bugs, to the point I have picked it up and flung it back at them loudly, they get embarrassed and go put it in the bin...this is toddler stuff!!

the hedge outside my garden is filthy with masks and other typical rubbish....took a whole wheelie bin to clear it last year.

My biggest litter complaint at moment sheer amount of disposable face masks how disgusting is that throwing on the pavements possibly contaminated masks. Have to pull my dig away from them on virtually every walk I take him on.

Maybe you missed my sarcasm

In spite of our oh so repressive, racist, authoritarian govt asking people to meet outside in limited groups and adhere to the rule of 6

What I see ( even taken into account the sensationalism of the press ) is the crowds in Birmingham and Nottingham mainly 18 to 25 year olds btw

It's not really just about the litter is it?

Nor are my comments made out of fear of covid spreading as doubtless someone will say " there's no evidence for that happening when several hundred people gather "

It's all about selfish behaviour and attitude

Oh - but they've been "locked up" for a year

Plus they've had to wear ( along with all of us) a face mask which is obviously a sign of free speech restriction.. lol

18-25 who are least affected by the virus when the most vulnerable have at least 60% protection from just 1 jab (DR Sarah Jarvis)

and yes they have been locked up for a year.

as for your masks (without the rest of the they aren't fit for purpose/used effectively), they are in my hedge, on the way to school, in the park...lying everywhere...so those who are mainly adults btw are also littering and with potentially virus covered materials too.

lot of them need to clean it up tbh & I'd have my kid dragged back down there to do so if they were mine....they were brought up better than that.

It’s the attitude behind it that’s worse

Sorry I will never be an apologist or try to find reasons for young peoples shite behaviour

They are the pampered, indulged, rude, selfish, products of a rich G8 countries, whatever “ hardships” they have in their lives are nothing compared to young persons of a comparable age in the 3rd world or developing nations, or failed states

I dread to think, and the excuse we make for our better health & longevity at the deprivation of other species is just disgusting to me.

Never mind public health needs to be planetary health.

As for the young behave...i'm pretty damn sure all our elders spout the same about their younger generations at the time.

Why do people get so angry about people leaving litter at parks and festivals, which is cleaned up after by the authorities and causes no harm, but are indifferent about the companies and government that makes the Junk? Are you zero waste? Do you recycle and compost all yours? Or do you sleep well at night because someone’s buried all your crap in the ground out of site for future generations to deal with.

I teach amazing young people. My son is an excellent citizen, as are his friends. I've had extremely positive interactions on here with young gents in their early to mid 20s too. I have only positive things to say about the young people I work with and encounter in my every day life.

To be so bitter about the folks who'll be the ones paying for your pension and wiping your bum in the nursing home must be tiring.
