question for singles really.. we've just seen loads of ads for dating websites. What is happening on these sites.. are people meeting and are encouraged to meet by the site? Are there proviso or virus warnings?

no encouragement to meet but some have provided a section where you can put on your profile what level of interaction you are comfortable with so you can match up with similar folk

the choices are video call, social distanced without mask, social distanced with mask ... things like that

I have a couple of friends who are using Dating sites. There seems to be a lot of online chat and some video dates happening, but the sites themselves are restricting the "meet in person" features.

"is there active persuasion not to meet on them? "

only in the form of suggesting alternatives - i guess the figure the law should already be enough active persuasion for folk

I’ve been on vanilla dating sites too - although we aren’t physically meeting up yet, I do a lot of video chats. Pubs will open in a few weeks anyway!

I think they all have warnings about meeting up with the restrictions in place.

I'm not looking for dating but all sites that I do see insist to not meet and abide by the law
