hiding from cock pics.

A year ago if I was told how things would be now I really wouldn't have been able to get my head around it.

Where do you think it's likely will will be in a year, what about 5-years?

Do you think we will all be receiving 2/3 covid jabs every year, will there be any restrictions, will we be living with covid or will it be a memory like swine flu etc?

From someone who works in health care... the thought of doing “the vaccine rollout” ever again makes me cringe never mind for 5 more years haha xx

The effects will last a generation I think.

I reckon over 60's will be offered an annual jab as with flu jab.

Hopefullyno restrictions in UK but travelling abroad who knows

I think deaths will rise again in the winter but not to the levels we have seen. The most vulnerable have either died from it or are vaccinated. After that maybe a booster but not high levels of death.

We will live with it and the vulnerable will be vaccinated against emerging strains annually, the economy cannot afford more lockdowns

Don't forget we have a high level of stage 4 and 5 diseases which have had low to none treatment for a year, we will be playing catch up for a long time to come regarding treatments, we live with an accepted number of with flu deaths and with covid-19 deaths will be added it just has a higher level of complications hence the higher number

Oh i agree entirely. I was just referring to covid deaths.

There will be many thousands of lives lost through this saving the NHS and you still can't see a GP yet despite the vacinne. Most dentists are open tho and they are really much more exposed than a GP would be. I find it astonishing and maybe this is government policy to save some cash...

The problem is it's deaths where people have been tested positive in the previous 28 days. It isn't categorically from Covid but with Covid plus flu figures have been joined so it's blurred lines. If it was specifically from covid the figures would be a lot different

We will learn to live with it just like we do with flu etc,

Remember the fear around aids st the beginning now with better treatments etc it isnt a huge issue unless you take stupid risks.

With covid we have already made huge strides with treatments other than vaccines this will impact on flu deaths too I expect in five years very few will die of either due to improved treatments, there is always a silver lining

That is one change personally I think has improved is access to a GP. Before this you needed to know that you were going to be ill and book an appointment a week in advance. Since the new systems have come in, econsult, telephone appointments you get to talk to someone the same day, via video call if needed or after that initial chat called into the surgery. I can’t fault the service the GP or the referral service provided to specialist services.

I'm guessing that an annual upgrade will be standard, typically with the flu jab.

Some international restrictions could remain for hotspots.

Perhaps we'll get an occasional blip here, especially in winter.

Otherwise, it's really difficult when the projection is towards ending the lockdown reopening.

Newry Down

Whilst the current vaccination programme within the UK is going well, vaccinations in the Republic of Ireland (colloquially known in NI as 'down south') are progressing at an abysmally slow rate because of limited vaccine supplies, to date.

The rate of infection is also increasing again, as it it in much of Europe.

Covid-19 and its inevitable mutations are with us forever; vaccinations programs are progressing much too slowly in the developed world; they are barely scratching the surface in the developing world.

The UN and WHO need to provide more leadership to address this worldwide problem, otherwise vaccine 'wars' are possible; each country fighting its own corner whilst losing sight of the big picture.

Vaccinations will still be happening in five years and foreign vacations will remain highly problematical.

Quarantining will be mandatory in many counties, tendering foreign travel for most prohibitively expensive.

Those who refuse to be vaccinated will find that life will be increasingly limited.

Annual vaccines will be required, but formulation of vaccines (as has recently been the case with the annual flu vaccine) will be very difficult if exotic mutations are permitted to be imported from countries or regions will high infection rates and low vaccination take-up.

Strategic leadership at the highest international level, together with a proactive tactical approach within each nation state will be required for the next 5-10 years, but this will not happen until the penny drops with self-interested politicians, profit-motivated vaccine manufacturers and a general public that still does not appreciate what we are really dealing with; the greatest human health crisis since the Spanish flu of 100 years ago.

Finally, anti-vaxxers need to be banned from all social media, comprehensively. They are unnecessarily encouraging citizens not be be vaccinated.

Once it's gone it's back in 10 years and suppose to not hanging around as long and I believe this would be given how science has acted so quickly with producing a vaccine so quickly in between now and then I'm sure it will have better effect from the vaccine unlike now so hopefully with not as many deaths and we get notified sooner rather than when it's here

I wouldn't say for everyone because most of the people have been carrying on without having a concern how it could infect another and think it'll never be them that's the case we deal with now I'm surprised people don't feel paranoid amount times our planet has been told it's going to go bang

I think the economy and business are going to suffer the worst. Many many businesses have not had much income in the past 12 months but still have fixed the to pay.

2 years ago I advertised a job vacancy and had 3 replies. Done it again this week, over 20 enquiries. People either lost their job or fed up on long term furlough.

40-50000 annual covid deaths ,int he uk as a whole?

seems a little excessive to me.

Quick intermet search says there has been 126k deaths in the uk covid related in slightly over a year, thats with no vaccine.

Not all that different. Take the Covid positive none Covid deaths out (heart attacks, suicide, bus deaths etc) and the figure would still exceed 100,000. How are Covid and flu figures merged? Flu does not trigger a Covid positive test result

An important factor is birthing.

Out of all the potential pregnancies how the survival rate of the the babies will be affected by the vaccinated mothers prior to birth.
