Yes

I was in a supermarket and there was an announcement

Nearly everyone paused apart from three teenage girls and an old couple

We did at the vaccination centre I'm working at. Staff and patients fell silent. It was very emotional x

My pan banging neighbour types were out in force, treating it like a social event.

Other street was better. Some were silent, some had put candles on the footpath. The moon came out too as though in support.

Yes and I placed a candle in a lantern, and put it in my front porch yesterday evening.

I was busy with volunteer work at the precise moment, so I didn't stop, but I hope my actions honoured those who've died, suffered, and continue to suffer

"Sheeple"

It's strange, but as I was lighting the candle last night in remembrance of the 3 otherwise fit and healthy family members I've lost to Covid in the pandemic, and the thousands of others that have been lost... The word 'Sheeple' wasn't even in my mind?

It's a bit much to throw insults around, in a thread remembering and reflecting upon the unfortunate people who have lost their lives, don't you think?

For having a bit of empathy for people who died a horrible death , many without having their loved ones next to them? In which case all I will say is baaaaaaa

Whatever people think of what has and is going on since this time last year, there are some people who have died. As this thread was to discuss if people stood still for a minute to reflect, maybe leave the thread alone if you want to spoil that

I kinda agree but one minute of quiet reflection, and empathy for those that covid has affected isnt too much to ask.

We did at work. I was running the mass testing programme and we all stopped for that minute in silence.

Not exactly much of an ask to be respectful and quite for 60 seconds, is it.

Lost my dad to this in April. Was a special day for me. Took a man perhaps 20 years before his time. Was and will forever be a remembered day for me.

I did it, without much thought, but when i went out to my xar to get things out of it, turned back to my front door and looked at the lamp i put out.. Yes i did reflect on those and also their families and friends, and also those left disabled by long covid.

Little evidence where we live but we put a candle in our window in solidarity for everyone affected and grieving. Mr S lost his mother to covid in December.
