Brother saw vaccine incident

(yes I will get the vaccine, no concerns etc, I'm just reporting what he saw yesterday)

He got called at a day's notice so went to a vaccination centre. As he was about to get pricked, an alarm went off and his nurse had to dart off to assist someone else -

A lady had fainted, but things got worse, possibly some sort of resuscitation involved, ambulance called and took her off for treatment, condition unknown. Blimey.

Could happen anytime anywhere

She could even have wound herself up so much she had a panic attack

This ^ it happens to a lot of people.

I need to gear myself up for a jab or blood test. They sprang one on me earlier this year and no matter how I tried to control it by body took over and switched off. Woke up on the floor with 6 people in the room and monitors on.

That's the sort of thing I was thinking when he said it, maybe she fainted and hit her head etc

They tell you not to drive until at least 15mins after the jab, my dr's wouldnt let me leave the surgery until exactly 15mins had passed after having it. Think its mainly due to different people reacting to it, maybe they are allergic to an ingredient in it that they wernt aware of.

It's pretty common with needle related stuff, it's why all vaccinators have to be fully first aid trained (if not already a nurse/doc).

My son had to be sat on to have any injections....

This is very very worrying indeed!!!!

I’ve personally heard that after having the vaccine people have :-

Farted

Stumbed their toe

Got a splinter

Farted and followed through

In other words the same things happen to people who have had the vaccine as it does every day of a normal life.

I was in a chip shop once and some one fainted!!!!

Ban chips.

I haven't suggested otherwise. It is still an important event to report on and appertain to the vaccination subject.

That is assuming the person in question was there for a vaccination. You can have someone with you when you go for yours.

Could be totally unrelated to the vaccination and just an unfortunate event.

Stick something into you’re skin and your body suffers a shock, most of the time it deals with it without any problem.

I have seen grate big hulking men pass out getting tattooed because of the shock to the system especially if they have low blood sugar

Had mine 3 weeks back. Walked out the room, down the stairs, got in my car a d drove 25 miles to work (I've had no side effects at a btw).

Last week I took a lady friends 86yr old mother for her 2and jab. Different surgery...they also had a 15 min waiting room set up. Depends where you go I think.

Central

It's the right place, other than an hospital, to show a problem. It will be recorded but is probably no more serious than a soreness in the arm for a couple of days. Many people are anxious and a major event like finally getting it, can raise stress levels etc.

Rely on the published evidence of the jabs' very high levels of safety

You have no idea if it’s related to the vaccine or not.

When I went for mine a man had to have serious first aid treatment and an ambulance called. It all looked very dramatic and lots of local idiots plastered it all over Facebook about how people were being “rushed away from the vax centre in a terrible state”.

He misjudged a step and cracked his head on the ground when he fell. Absolutely nothing to do with the vaccine or side effects.

Well they were all in booths and I understand the medical response was to one booth, so it was related to the procedure yes, not someone tripping on the stairs

Most likely fainted prior to vaccine... even hyper allergic people seem to take time to develop issues.. So dont worry about it...

No , not necessarily related to having the vaccine.

In a booth/ a private booth ?

As i have already said could have been someone accompanying a patient.

Numerous reasons for this happening .

Please dont spread assumptions.

It's not helpful for those people awaiting their vaccinations.

Post facts dont assume.

I think needle phobia or dislike is pretty common, and that could be part of it.

I'm not assuming anything other than there was an incident at a vaccination centre.

Someone needing medical attention in a vaccination centre isn't an important event. I would suggest that there is probably at least one such event every day in every vaccination centre. The link with the vaccination is tenuous to say the least.

My mother was admitted to hospital with multiple thromboses shortly after her first vaccination. In light of recent events I could make much of that but spreading unfounded fear in a situation already fraught with uncertainty isn't something I want to do.

I hope the person in question is OK and your brother has recovered from his experience.

Yeah, it was pretty exact at my docs. They gave me a ticket with my permitted exit time, I sat in the bake-off tent in the car park and at every minute interval, the lady at the front shouted the time.... 7:10, 7:11, 7:12, 7:13 (that was me outta there)

Exactly this. We had three panic attacks in one day at a recent covid vaccine clinic.

Oddly we had none when we were doing the elderly but as the age range gets younger we are having more and more panicking people.

I wonder if that says something about the younger generation.

Since he said it, that was one of my thoughts as well, older people bit more used to jabs, flu jabs etc, the younger they are the less used to it they get.

Last week I took a lady friends 86yr old mother for her 2and jab. Different surgery...they also had a 15 min waiting room set up. Depends where you go I think. "

It doesn't depend on where you go it depends on what vaccine you have.

The Pfizer vaccine you have to wait for 15 minutes but the Oxford one generally you don't.

I’ve spoken to my brother again, he says the emergency took place quickly after the lady had had her jab.

I’m not saying she didn’t faint or have a panic attack etc. but yes it’s relevant to the vaccination subject.

You or your brother have no idea why this happened.

I think it just adds to the scaremongering.

I had mine today. I’m not scared of needles, am not I’ll and couldn’t wait to be vaccinated even with the AZ vaccine. Yet while on the way to the vaccination centre and all the way through the process - I felt so nervous and briefly shook (prior to the jab). I think, for some including myself, there is so much emotional and psychological baggage with regards to the pandemic, the lives we’ve lived because of it, the people we know who have suffered from it, the terrible news of others experiences - that it’s not surprising that some people react, physically, when being vaccinated.

I’m feeling great now, euphoric in fact.

I haven't suggested otherwise. It is still an important event to report on and appertain to the vaccination subject. "

"It's pretty common with needle related stuff, it's why all vaccinators have to be fully first aid trained (if not already a nurse/doc)"

This..

It's covered extensively in the training for volunteering at the vaccination centres, it's to be expected that some people have phobia's or are anxious etc ..

Had a mate who was airborne and commando trained, hard as nails who fainted as we were queuing to be multiple jabbed prior to going to Kenya..

It happens and the centres and staff are equipped to deal with suchlike..

It happened to my work colleague. Seconds after the jab she developed redness and swelling in her face and neck. She was given oxygen and stabilised. She was offered to visit hospital for a check over and refused, instead a doctor at the vaccine centre was called over. She was being monitored for 1.5 hours until her husband took her home. The reason for it was a reaction to medication she takes. She was then off work ill for 4 days. She is ok now.

My ex was waiting in the doctors surgery when another patient who was waiting in there had a heart attack. When the doctor came out he just panicked. It was only when the on site nurse took over that calm was restored.

Just goes to show how so much is down to training. The nurse had a background in trauma nursing. The GP just wasn't experienced with emergency practice.

Picking up on blatant scaremongering is not laughing at someone’s worries.

People posting unnecessary speculation that someone needed resuscitating when they weren’t there, and the person who was there didn’t even know the situation, are simply adding to the worries people may have absolutely needlessly.

This right here. Even if OP isn't fashioning it as caused by the vaccine, titling the thread this way absolutely does not help that fact.

The vaccines are generally super quick in and out procedures and the risk any vaccine would ever cause an immediate sort of reaction like that (as in the a vaccination caused it) is ridiculously, extremely rare.

Way more likely to be anxiety-fuelled or unrelated.

Helps nobody. Hope the person was able to make it out okay.

Yes I can understand your concern but we have no idea what happened in this situation and the OP has this "information" secondhand and no facts just speculation.

Regarding the blood clots you are much more likely to get blood clots from complications of covid and the Oxford vaccine has been declared safe.

Please don't let rumours put you off having a potentially life saving vaccine.

People can faint anywhere anytime for any reason. The fact that is was in the vaccination centre means that, she was in the best place to receive help.

I queued up for nearly an hour in the cold yesterday. One old woman with walking stick was let in to the room as she looked like she couldn't be expected to stand for so long. 50 minutes.

Hunger, thirst, needle phobias, diabetes, a lack of sleep and just a handful of reasons for keeling over. At least they tended to her and did the right thing, by getting an ambulance. Better safe than sorry.

could have been someone with heart disease that had a heart attacked entirely unrelated to the vaccine

I think your brother or *someone* might be exaggerating.

Why would his nurse dart off to treat someone else’s patient? The centres have specific doctors in place to deal with emergencies, and they aren’t the same person that’s giving the jab.

How would he see? Even halls have divides, and when someone has an incident they place medical divides around them. If his nurse was busy giving someone CPR does that mean he didn’t get his vaccine? Or did they bring that person back to life and then casually finish off your bros vaccine?

With all the panic in the news at the moment, a major incident like this would be all over the news. It doesn’t add up.

If you are going to throw around claims that someone needed CPR due to the vaccine then you have to expect people to question you on it.

Still, at least after your two clarifications we can see that there is still absolutely nothing to say that it was related to the actual vaccine so people can see the scaremongering attempt for what it was

I had mine a few weeks ago. I am not needle phobic but sometimes they can be painful. However my nurse told me to look in a certain direction and I was waiting for it to happen when it was finished - didn’t feel it at all and it didn’t even make me bleed. "They tell you not to drive until at least 15mins after the jab, my dr's wouldnt let me leave the surgery until exactly 15mins had passed after having it. Think its mainly due to different people reacting to it, maybe they are allergic to an ingredient in it that they wernt aware of.

It doesn't depend on where you go it depends on what vaccine you have.

The Pfizer vaccine you have to wait for 15 minutes but the Oxford one generally you don't.

I was told to sit in the centre or in my car for 15 mins and I had Oxford - so both the same."

My partner, sister and work colleagues had Oxford and none of them were asked to wait.

You are asked not to drive for 15 minutes. Otherwise you can walk straight out.

For the Oxford there’s no waiting period needed at all.

However, some vaccine centres that are giving both vaccines are giving the 15 minute advice all the time so there’s never any confusion and someone missed.

Where I got mine they only have given the AZ so they’ve not given any 15 minute waiting advice at all.

GPs do not need to observe patients for 15 minutes after administering the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid vaccine. The MHRA said this comes as no reports of anaphylactic adverse reactions have so far been associated with the Oxford vaccine.7 Jan 2021

Copied from the NHS Website.

Some centres are obviously choosing to ask people to wait but its not necessary according to official guidance.

Didn't feel a thing until the very last second of it going in. If you were driving they did ask you to stay behind for 15 minutes or at least not drive for 15 minutes if you wanted to sit outside

If your parents had the AZ vaccine there was no need for them to wait.

"This is very very worrying indeed!!!!

I’ve personally heard that after having the vaccine people have :-

Farted

Stumbed their toe

Got a splinter

Farted and followed through

In other words the same things happen to people who have had the vaccine as it does every day of a normal life.

I was in a chip shop once and some one fainted!!!!

Ban chips.

T

I haven't suggested otherwise. It is still an important event to report on and appertain to the vaccination subject. "

It is, but it's not acceptable to suggest anything other than it was obviously just a fear of needles that brought on this incident by those who weren't even there. To suggest otherwise isn't a narrative that seems to sits well with many here and couldn't be anything other than an attack brought on by fear. A quick way to shut people up.

I'm not antivax before someone jumps upon my comment.

Yet the number who have banged on about how how common it seems to be fainting don't see thus doesn't help or encourage people going either.

To speculate on something you know people have concerns about without knowing what happened or even if the person had had any type of vaccination before they needed medical treatment is scaremongering.

people generally already know if they have a needle phobia or prone to fainting from things like getting blood taken, vaccines from earlier life, even the dentist

i wouldn’t read those experiences as you could be at risk of this if its not something you have experienced before or let it put you off

but if you were concerned you just let the vaccinator know and i assume there will be the facility for you to lie down to have the injection much like most nurses offices do when they take blood

Very well organised and orchestrated 9 booths in a Sports centre with people queuing patiently to get their vaccination.

Whoever organised it needs a huge pat on the back.

Newry Down

David Icke and Bill Gates had instructed the medical staff, via the local 5G network, to selelect that patient for the special multi-transmitter version of the vaccine, so she had to be given a sedative in order that knocked her out first; she could be taken to an old Soylent Green processing facility, in a vehicle that resembled an NHS ambulance, but which was actually jointly owned by the Bilderberg Group and the Trilatetal Commission and driven by members of the Illuminati, who are actually lizards, and had been trained in Paris by Princess Diana's doppelganger.

Seriously, the UK vaccine programme is a fantastic success so far, but it may be about to be undermined by the EU, which has a special office next to David Icke's home on the Isle of Wight, and receives special instructions from him on how to sabotage UK vaccinations via his television.

I was delighted to receive the Pfizer vaccine in Belfast 10 days ago, with a few side effects and I look forward to a normal life, probably next year at the very earliest!

Whatever he saw or thought had happened was dealt with, it's hardly a surprise that people have issues or possibly reactions and these are attended to by first aiders, HCP,s..

Why you felt the need to title it as you did when you or your brother know little other than stated and can't say it was a 'vaccine' incident is a puzzle especially as you claim to be pro vaccination..?

He’s exaggerating. What are the chances it would happen exactly when the nurse is about to put the needle into his arm? Sounds like he told a tale all for dramatic effect.

And as mentioned earlier - there are specific doctors and nurses that are on-site to deal with emergencies. These aren’t the same people that are giving the injections. So his nurse wouldn’t have to dash anywhere.

the way i see it is even if the brother isn’t exaggerating, even if they saw exactly what has been posted and its taken and believed at face value, unless the brother also went with them in the ambulance and got copies of the persons medical records they are still speculating that the vaccine caused the problem and that whatever happened would be a risk to anyone else - otherwise what was the point of the thread

"(yes I will get the vaccine, no concerns etc, I'm just reporting what he saw yesterday)

Same. I was in hospital (non COVID related) before Christmas and required a drip. I had to close my eyes and just go to my 'safe place' while they put it in. Utterly terrified of needles.
