Think it depends where you are if they have got through a age range instead of stopping they just move on to the next

There does appear to be a range of varied vaccine roll-outs in the UK, for Over 65's.

I received my Vaccine Jab invite 2 weeks ago, at a mass Vaccine Centre which started that week in my home town.

But due to a mix-up within my previous GP Surgery records elsewhere in the West Midlands, a Vaccine invitation letter, forwarded from my last place, showed vaccine roll out starting 2 weeks before my invitation here!

My brother knows of people in standard age groups nor shielding etc, who have had their jabs sooner.

It does seem random. I know quite a few 40's and 50's who have appointments locally, a family member who is 60, had to book online and they could only offer him 2 vaccination centres both 2 hours away! And they're telling us not to travel! Crazy...

A work colleague had theirs last week. He is on 28 years old. He questioned if they had the right person, but they adamant he was!

He has no underlying health issues! I cant help but wonder if there was some clerical error and some other guy in is 70's waiting to be called up!

Had mine on Saturday night. Didn't feel a thing. No side effects. Mind saying that one of my cousins had his on Monday and he is now ill. I don't know how, or why this is. He had the Oxford vaccine and I had the pfizer one. The nurse who gave me mine did say that people with something seemingly hanging over them health wise do seem to be getting some side effects with the vaccine

I was chatting to a friend the other week who said exactly the same thing, Been invited for a vaccine but couldn't work out why because she was only 28.

I asked her if she had any underlining health problems and she said no.

But then I said to her did you not have major heart surgery when you were 19? She didn't realise that put her at extra risk as she hadn't had any problems since but the doctor confirmed it was. So Could be something like that for your Colleague.

Only with underlying conditions as a rule, Some people over 50 have been called in our area but the majority haven't and it is mostly those who fit into category 6.

In Wales all Drakeford keeps going on about is how they are doing % wise compared to England. I pointed out that rurally it’s going shit & his % is probably Cardiff,Swansea, The Valleys & Wrexham.

I asked if they could remove those from his % and then tell us how we are doing my request didn’t illicit a response oddly.I’m 59 in a week or so & not heard a peep but then there’s lots of over 60’s in these parts that have yet to have it.

Currently doing as per government guidelines.

Over 60s and those 18+in at risk categories as set by government.

Sometimes if vaccines left they are given out end of day.

I think understandably people are waiting for their phone call, text or letter to book their vaccination. If you use the NHS vaccine booking site, enter your personal details (including your NHS Number) and follow it through to the end, you'll be offered a choice of locations (vaccine hubs) and dates to book your vaccination if you're eligible. I know it sounds a bit obvious but they are far more up to date on how the local areas are doing/availability etc than your local GP is. If you're not yet eligible it won't give you the opportunity to book yet so you won't be queue jumping.

Roll out going really well. It depends on how many per delivery.we only get a set amount per week aswell as working to fit clinics in.

Try and book online firstly.

"it seems a bit random I am over 60 with heart problems & not been contacted yet loads of younger people have had the jab "

If you are over 60 in England, you don't need to wait to be contacted. Google for the NHS vaccination site, it should allow you to make the booking yourself. The webpage asks for your NHS number, which will be on any letter from your doctor or on a prescription, or you can just go through using your name/address/age and other personal details.

Those in your 50's, I would advise finding the site now, then check back every week or so. You can get booked then as soon as the age limit is lowered, without having to wait for the system to send you a letter.
