I'm getting mine at the beginning of next week and I'm so excited I think I'm going to get dressed up for it. Might even wear makeup.

I won't be meeting though - one plus lockdown doesn't make it a sensible idea. People will soon be though Op. Stay strong.

Roll on the vaccines

I'll be meeting at my second jab plus three weeks if there's sufficient uptake and low enough disease level (which is probably well beyond "if we're allowed")

I used a calculator yesterday which got me down to "under 50, no relevant underlying conditions, not in healthcare" and it said May to August for my first jab. Hence I'm thinking July

"How the hell is everyone getting jabbed "

I think I got it due to a miniscule heart murmur I've had from birth but never had symptoms of. I did ask my GP during another consultation and he said "everyone will be offered by July, so even if you don't think your heart condition merits it, just have it anyway". So I did. Today (actually yesterday now - Friday).

It depends on the area I think. My locality (population about 25,000) is well underway with the over 65s and 16+ with health conditions. They did 1000 vaccines today alone. There's an NHS site where you can enter your NHS number and if you're eligible, let's you book at one of the mass centres.

Don't feel guilty lovely because you were offered it for a very valid reason and at the end of the day every jab in every arm is a step forwards and a step closer to normality so you have helped the cause.

You have to wait for your second shot in about 12 weeks before you can say you are vaccinated fully

Thing is you don't know what conditions people have.

I look completely fit and healthy and fairly young, you wouldn't have a clue that I have underlying health conditions just by looking at me yet I am in the shielding group.

Mine isn't a relevant underlying condition, but I have advanced stage disease which, if not for medication, would kill me. (Medication is essentially a cure)

Where did the individual who asked this question state she was a keyworker? It's only healthcare workers who have any prioritisation based on their job. All other keyworkers have to wait for their age bracket or in the category for underlying health conditions. We might not like it, but that's how it's being done.

In reality healthcare is key to all hence keyworker.

And no pending on areas keyworkers can be refeared as i have had 20 of my staff vaccine this way through council involvement.

Kind regards

Supermarket workers are classed as keyworkers. But they are not prioritised for the vaccine (unless in another category). Whatever your council area is choosing to do, the national priority groups set by the JCVI is not based on employment, other than healthcare workers. Being any other kind of keyworker does not lead to priority.

From my local council's FAQs on the vaccine rollout:

Who gets the vaccine first?

The order in which people will be offered the vaccine is based on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

They have only just started doing your age range and people with health conditions, you will be called. "

Some areas / go's are doing better than others... Mine is rubbish.. But I know some bear me who are doing 50s already

If they are 16 to 64 with high risk factors they will be entitled to the vaccine

I had the Pfizer about 2 weeks ago.

My arm did hurt quite considerably for about 3 days it felt like I've been punched but it was OK, I would advise having the injection in the opposite side that you sleep on. I that night but was fine.

I had mine last Wednesday and other than a hot arm didn’t have any side effects. However last few days I have been so tired I can barely think. I’m sure it’s a side effect.

It depends on the area I think. My locality (population about 25,000) is well underway with the over 65s and 16+ with health conditions. They did 1000 vaccines today alone. There's an NHS site where you can enter your NHS number and if you're eligible, let's you book at one of the mass centres."

Yes some areas are further advanced - they recently opened a big centre near me and they are doing 1,000 ish each day and are more advanced than areas that friends and family of mine live in.

Underlying health and front line and had mine 5 weeks ago, still kept as safe as I physically could.

1.5 weeks later I CAUGHT COVID. It put me on my ass amd damn near destroyed mental health.

Even after my second dose we wont be meeting to play until there is a proper handle on this virus.

The vaccine does not stop you getting this, only reduces how ill you are and how tranmissable it is. I want plenty more fun in the furture and part of the fun is in the build up.... we will wait

It depends on the doctors surgeries it seems. It's not on the official list that puts you in group 6 but I know a couple of people that have fibromyalgia or ME whose doctors have put them in group 6 and I know others who have these conditions and can't get the vaccine until it's their age range so I think it seems to really depend.
