"Yes it's an interesting article. Amusing some people want the Oxford Astra Zenica solely because it's made in Britain" Agree particularly as Pfizer is also manufactured here. Astra Zenica isn't a British company either

"the person would still need to wear a mask and keep the distance. For ever ?" That's current guidance based on a very conservative reading of current knowledge, but probably not. (Which I'm sure doesn't suit certain agendas)

"for something like the mmr vaccine do we have multiple brands of the same thing of different vaccines? or entirely different vaccines like we do for covid lots of medication can have a different brand but be the same active ingredients so its really the same thing just a different manufacturer, i think the patent rules give the people who did the original research a period of time where they are the only people allowed to make it so they can recoup their money i would imagine the same for vaccines because they are expensive to develop that other than covid where multiple were being funded at once , we would generally design one vaccine then over time widen the production if it surely? " All good points but the article explores a bit off at a tangent different themes. I think I probably mislabelled the thread and should have called it "read this it's interesting"

I think I probably mislabelled the thread and should have called it "read this it's interesting" " it is interesting - my post was more a musing i dont actually know the answer , my gut would just say with other vaccines a differentiation between brands isnt really relevant whereas with covid its entirely different things being injected into you i think though the point of them and end result is the same, they have both been declared safe and the effectiveness levels are similar so ill be happy to be given any im offered

"Yes it's an interesting article. Amusing some people want the Oxford Astra Zenica solely because it's made in Britain" Clearly if that is the reason it is plain silly. People I know mostly want AZ too but that is based on two key issues only... 1. Based on existing proven biotech 2. Currently AZ doing it at cost (no profit) which feels more ethical
