Solihull and Brentwood

Probably a daft question. But..

Just wondering if it's possible that on your first dose of the vaccine you had the Pfizer. But the second you have Modema or Astra?

Wouldn't have thought you could. As, certainly the Pfizer and Astra ones, work slightly differently.

Googled it quickly, and can't find much info unfortunately.

Doubt you will ever be able to mix doses of the Oxford and Pfizer, entirely different vaccines.

Trials continue to see if the Moderna and Oxford can be interchangeable but current guidance is based on two doses of the same vaccine

A trial has started in the UK to see what happens if people are given 2 mixed doses of the vaccine for their first and second jabs .

There are studies ongoing to examine the effects of combining different vaccines, in different orders & dose sizes. A little time should furnish us with the facts.

My understanding is they are actually trying this but at the moment the current advise Is you have both doses of the same vaccine.

If it's the antibodies that the vaccine produce that are the important part of the process, if that can be maintained or improved by mixing and matching then that will be good.
