We all know that there is a long way to go yet. But a nice long walk or ride outside the confines of the house will be really nice.

I feel however that when the lockdown is eased significantly too many folks will just think it's a free-for-all and run riot.

Couldn't guess just yet what he actually will say.

No for me change nothing till April and look hard at schools now and kids transmitting covid as this was menshend today just don't know how you would stop it.

I've absolutely no interest in anything that dickhead Boris says other than when schools are to reopen but the school will email everyone anyway regardless anyway.

I'm hoping that the emphasis is on any timing will have to be supported by evidence and infection data. I'd also prefer any prospective earliest dates to have had a couple of months extra leeway added to them.

As quick an announcement as possible. Promise that lockdown will be at least partly over by Jan 2022

I just feel that it the only reason infections are down is because of the lockdown. Once that opens up I'm sure the infections will rise.

The vaccine haven't had chance to be effective yet. Most of the people who've had it weren't going out and mixing with other people.

Plus in other threads, posts say that even after you've been vaccinated you can still catch the virus and pass it on but it won't be as severe.

At least a month before lockdown starts easing except maybe for schools.

So why schools? Do we now know children can't speed it.

For me shops and gyms first if the big supermarket can open safely then why not small shops gyms and restraints. A least it's not hundreds all in one place.

Bit unfair, no one predicted this. If anyone to blame its WHO. They are an organisation that should have planned, have systems in place for any country, non political, and should step in with a plan for everyone to use, and no waste time.

How meny are struggling with mental health I guess all that have lost a love one due to covid and those that have lost people not covid related. But also all the staff in hospitals and care homes and other services dealing with the extra deaths. PTSD in paramedic throught to undertake is going to be on the up.

It's hard but we did not lock down soon enough or garden enough and this is the result

I honestly cannot understand why they would send some school year groups back before Easter when they have plenty of time around god knows who for three weeks and then break up again for two weeks, I know most want to get back but let them have until Easter and then go back.

Other than that, anything else doesn't effect me on a wider scale so it doesn't bother me when they reopen of course would be nicer sooner rather than later for all those people that need an income and for their mental health.

Naw, it's totally fair. They've been nothing short of incompetent. Not choosing to do the first lockdown a month earlier was disgraceful. Allowing the borders to remain open too. The PPE fiasco and the billions - yes billions - of pounds given to fictitious or unrelated companies, in untendered contracts, for things that never materialised.

A competent government does none of these things, and they also don't allow 100,000 deaths like our government has.

I think he'll announce a limited return to school phased, and limited care home visiting with safety measures. Not much else yet and even those with the caveat that it will be data driven, and no hesitancy on rolling back if needed.

Schools should stay shut until after Easter. No point opening for 2 weeks. I would expect a plan based on the vaccinations. We are going off track with infections. If you can still catch it but are vaccinated then there is less chance of illness or death.

I would expect that when 30 or 40 million people are vaccinated we should be getting back to some sort of normality in this country. The vaccines will probably be a booster afterwards.

The figures are going down because of lockdown and we are past the peak. I'm definitely hoping that its more clear than what its been so far.

I honestly don't know, but thankfully I'm not in charge. I guess a phased return to work and schools would be a sensible start, though impractical for many.

As for the mental health aspect, I'm fairly certain the tories don't give a toss about anyone's mental health, but I think it would be good for people to be legally allowed a little more social movement - maybe a return to the bubble of 6 again? It works on paper, but I'm pretty sure people didn't stick to it strictly last year.
