It's a dramatisation that came out in what, 2011? It's not even a particularly engaging film, although it's fairly accurate in terms of virology or epidemiology compared to something like Dawn of the Dead. For all of its missteps I found Outbreak more enjoyable.

I do think the tagline of 'Nothing spreads like fear' is pretty accurate though.

Virus's in some for or another have been around for like ever. Some prominent figures have cited these over the years as to be the main threat to mankind, not a nuclear war but an attack on our way of life by a virus infection. Asian countries have been well prepared for this unlike the western world, and the UK in particular

The accuracy can be put down to the world leading virologists and epidemiologists who worked as advisors during filming

The more depressing thing is that most of the above reckon there's a far more devastating virus to come. Like, this kills a tiny fraction of people compared to what we might get. That's the scary shit.

Take away our tecnologies and we are just another vulnerable manal.

if society's think the virus was scary wait untill we see what global warming will do .

Starting with the gulf stream stopping.

I reckon we should all get swinging before it's to late.

Contagion was airborne...there's a huge difference to how Covid spread.

Unfortunately some people have been primed to think that's how it does spread, if it was airborne we'd all be dead seeing as supermarkets stayed open throughout.

couple, us we him her.

Well how spot on is this film?

Bang on I say, the portrayal of the idiot claiming that it's fake and claiming that forsythia is the cure that governments don't want you to know about, and turns out he's full of shit and a con artist.

Ring any bells ?

It’s meant to be based on the Nipah virus according to the film producers.

Google Nipah virus.

Again originating in bats

The key to most viruses of not necessarily how lethal they are but how transmissible they are.

The Contagion virus was both.

Nipah is relatively not that transmissible but very lethal ((30%)

B117 is incredibly transmissible but no where near as lethal
