For those who've had it...which one did you get and did you have any side effects?

I chose Pfizer and had really bad side effects about 24 hours later, that lasted about 24 hours too.

I did get told if you’ve had covid previously you can get similar symptoms- which what i believe happened to me.

Stopped as quick as it started though! x

I feel incredibly lucky. Seeing the vaccination centre working was quite an emotional moment too, they were just so well organised and the staff were all so proud to be part of it.

Swollen red hot painful arm for 7 days. Can still feel point of injection.

Usually, you wouldn't be vaccinated until at least 28 days after your positive test or start of symptoms. If after 28 days, the side effects should be minor but as you would agree, body differences is a factor.

Pfizer for me. Horrific side effects. I threw up in my car on the way home. Sick all night. Lethargic. Weak. Headaches and temp went to 38.7 at one point. Lasted about 20 hours.

I had both my jabs and the pfizer one. First one just a bit of a sore arm. 2nd one my arm was a small but sore and 24 hours later just felt really shattered tired. I was working a full shift in work so by the time I'd finished after 12 hours all I wanted was my bed. But was fine the next day.

As much as a lot of people will disagree, mostly for political reasons, nhs is one of the best assets we have in this country. We should all be proud of OUR NHS and the peopleworking hard to keep it moving. From the consultants to the admins to the securities, the porters and the cleaners.

I had the Pfizer one last week no problem

The other half had the Oxford one yesterday and is now in bed with flu symptoms

Like one poster hints it may be people who have had COVID react

My other have is convinced she had it last March after we flew home from the states

But whatever the side effects it would not of stoped us from having one

AZ 8 days ago. No pain when given it but within a few hours i felt ill, headache, sick, very bad aches and pains, arm extremely painful, side effects lasted several days and i still don't feel right. Arm still painful.

I'm glad i had it though.

Both of us have had both pfizer doses. First one was ok sore arm for a couple of days and that was it. Second dose however gave us shivers and general unwell feeling. Some muscle pain too but only lasted for two days and was well controlled with paracetamol.

Pfizer back in December, bit of a sore arm and a big bruise but other than that nothing. Nor did any of my 50 colleagues. Second one delayed until end of March, but have heard from lots of other people that the second affects you more for a day or so afterwards. Colleagues who have had the vaccine have tested positive since, whether that would have happened if they’d had the second after 21 days as planned I don’t know. First dose is supposed to give you 90% protection. They also had negative LFD tests...

I had the Astra Zeneca 6 days ago. The next day I had one of the worst headaches ever, I was quite frightened by the pain level. Was fine the following day though.

Having now got long covid, I'm hoping to have the two jabs asap. Been told as I've had covid, I've still got anti bodies in me so safe for a while. I do not want it again

Could choose venue as im a front line worker

Dizzy, nausea, high temperature, headache, heart rate went high (I wear a fitbit), pins & needles in hands

lasted about 30 hrs

Couldn't sleep on my injection arm for 2 days, too painful

Had the AZ jab a week ago, very slight headache, the arm was tender rather than sore, but still quite drowsy.

The health centre operation was very slick, I had to wait 10 minutes after the jab as I was driving but otherwise would have been in and out in 2 or 3 minutes.

I had the pfizer and only an achy arm... I'm giving the vaccines atm and the AZ seems to have lots of side effects... flu like symptoms

Astra one on Saturday. No apparent effects at all so far(Sun eve) my arm is sore most of the time anyway for a completely different reason but nothing apparently different as far as I can tell. As others have commented it seems terribly well organized and ran smoothly. I was in due to other medical issues but nothing has flared up on that side whatsoever. Congratulations n.h.s.

If you get a choice of centres you go to you can find out which center is doing what jab and book accordingly.

In leeds frontline workers can either go to Eland Road (oxford) or thackeray medical museum (phizer) so I got to pick.

Probably not as most centres Only have one type at a time.

It can also change so for example locally one centre last week was offering the Oxford and this week it's the Pfizer so it just depends on what they gone the day I think.

Had the pfizer one, arm felt dead for a few days, about an hour in the evening after having I felt a bit flu like.

My work colleagues have had the Oxford one (we went at different times) and a couple felt like they were describing covid symptoms for a few days, one guy said it was like a switch that went off when he felt better.

Don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining at all. If we've got anything right in this pandemic it's the vaccination program.

I got mine due to working at the vaccine hub , my daughter who is 24 is getting hers tomorrow as she is extremely clinically vulnerable, she has downs symdrome

At the start when there was only the Pfizer one available and people were still a bit nervous about it. When some people didn't turn up for the appointments our hospital at end of the day would ring round the staff to get them vaccinated rather than waste the vaccine and I know at the start some of the community vaccination hubs did the same.

Yes plus also they have now started the under sixties in some areas with high risk health conditions.

Anybody who works in health or social care is being offered the vaccination and there is 2 million of them so it makes sense to me but lots of people not in the age categories have had the vaccine.

Wife had AstraZeneca one on Sunday. Went to sleep feeling good but woke on Monday a.m feeling total shite.

A little better yesterday.

A bit better still today, though still exhausted.

I'm really going to struggle to get her to have the second dose

Astra jab two days ago.

No effects other than very slight tenderness the following morning.

The worst part was driving there in the snow to get it done, unforeseen at the time of booking.

Got it done in order to provide someone else to blame other than myself if I die from it!

I am due to have mine on Sunday,(a Valentine's Day to remember)but really hope for no bad side effects as I am a full time carer for an immediate family member and there is no one else who can step in. I would rather give up my slot so that they can have it first as we fall into the same category 4.

I got a call on my landline this morning to say ring the doctors and book an appointment and a text which gave me a link to book a 10 minute time slot and another link to download the form you need to take with you. I rang to doctors and the receptionist said that the first 100 had been sent out today and that more would be sent today. No idea how many people can be booked into one 10 minute slot, will find out when I get there. Good luck with getting through and getting an appointment.

I had the AZ vaccine 2 weeks ago, i still have side effects from it. When i had it i had a headache within a few hours, my arm felt painful and heavy and i felt really tired and crap for a few days.

I still feel very tired and achy. Plus my arm is very painfull still and the injection site is very sore, around my arm, shoulder and neck is very painfull.

I'm glad i had it but i do wish i felt ok now

It seems to depend to what area you live in because some people are given a date when they have their 1st, Some are contacted by their GP and some are just sent a link to book but I'm sure you will get something when it's your time for the 2nd.

Remember everything that happens to you after the jab should be recorded and reported, the vaccine is still under trials and they need the information to make sure it's safe before people who don't need it are asked to have it. If they find out in a few month's it's dangerous then they can change it or remove it.
