And more....just gob smacking after a year of this...

"Other findings:

23% of people had previously boarded a flight while feeling ill

27% of people would still travel home if a family member of friend who had symptoms, while 45% would not

10.2% of people would not quarantine for the full 10-day period

93% of people would wear a mask on a plane

14% would not wash their hands properly when using the toilet on the flight"

It’s all about travelling back and to be honest a mute point now as you need to have a test before flying

From the article

In the survey, carried out by YouGov in October, 2,103 were asked about whether they would travel home from a trip abroad despite having symptoms.

Of these, 21% said they would get on a plane even if they had a cough, fever or other potential Covid-19 symptom, while 52% said they would not board the flight, and 27% did not know.

Overall, slightly more men said they would potentially travel back with COVID-19 symptoms relative to women - 24% and 18% - while more younger people (aged 18-44) said they would travel with symptoms.

Not every cough or fever is the virus !

A sad irony isn't it? that some people's selfish insistence on a right to live life their way is actually contributing towards other people to lose their lives :/

You’d hope some of those may have altered their views now, but all depends how the questions were posed. If someone asked me if I would or have got on a flight with a cough then yes I would, as I’m sure many would answer the same, just like I’m sure many have travelled when not feeling well. Not all coughs are the virus

I agree. What I was suggesting is that people with symptoms may still work like those with symptoms may still choose to fly. Apologies if it came across differently

I wouldn't get on a plane with no symptoms either. I haven't seen since my parents for 15 months , I decided against travelling to see them in July when some restrictions were lifted (I'm not British).

My siblings all live here too , to compensate my brother went "home" in the summer for the foreseeable future possibly for good so our parents wouldn't be alone.

I feel that I must do my bit and not spread the

virus more than strictly necessary.

Agreed. Close family member nearly died in the summer. I kept my butt at home. Not sure what I would have done if the unthinkable had happened.

I've thought about it , although my parents are reasonably healthy , but I wouldn't go either in the current situation , perhaps by the summer if matters have improved

Look at the flight scanner app just to see how many flights are still running.

Not cargo planes but passenger and small private planes too.

Also in a few months ,flights from 42 countries will be flying into Amsterdam for eurovision .doesn't make sense to us.

Whether it was or not it still demonstrates the same message that so many don't care it caused a return to stronger restrictions.

What we really needed, sad to say and goes against much of how much liberty we have, was to remove options and have a lockdown. Giving people the respect as adults to make the right choice didn't work because sadly so many seemed incapable to make that choice.

The fact the story is from a couple of months ago, or about flying, is irrelevant.

Some people just don't care. Wherever they are.

I hear you... You mean a lockdown as opposed to what we keep spouting as a lock down and the loss of our hard won freedoms...it would make sense... Even now..

Manage our environment properly, stop any new introductions from travellers... Seems relativy simple.

Manage any new outbreaks swiftly.

Indeed. Not sure those are the clientele you wish to have in the club when this is all over either Cat. Clearly if they can’t comprehend this they do not comprehend other basics concepts such as those around sexual health!

Sadly it'll make little difference when restrictions are lifted, most will forget about it, most will no longer think about whom they play with, it'll be a frenzy.
