As OP says... So they can modify the vaccine. I'm sure all the pharmaceutical companies have access to samples and data and continual investigations are being carried out. Issue is the virus is a moving target so they may be constantly playing catch up.

They have been in dialogue and research upon the new variants since last year, as it's an intelligent approach for them to start. Newer research has been showing the efficacy of the vaccines against the new variants, including some this week.

Pfizer have and it takes six weeks to amend the vaccine, if this turns into an endemic then there will be multiple types of vaccines being produced

But that's just the same as the flu so that's why the flu vaccine is rolled out every year.

There is talk of a third jab in autumn of a combined Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccine as a booster.

Then a fourth vaccination at Xmas as the next year vaccinations start with the fifth vaccination a few weeks after for the double jab

Its not a vaccine your getting its treatments

So ul be getting treated more regular but called vaccinated
