So the US media just stated that World Health Organization is now starting to look to determine the source of COVID19 in Wuhan.

What are your thoughts on why they've waited so long to begin looking for the source?

Whilst I enjoy reading about conspiracy theories I'm not a tinfoil hat wearer who tends to get on board with them. However, whilst I'm not going to make any predictions on what has happened here I find it extremely difficult to believe that some Chinese dude eating soup has managed to infect the entire planet.

WHO have been warning of a world wide pandemic for years and was largely ignored same as they told most of the so called richest countries to invest in public health care and other various related items ..but ..again totally ignored and at the rate we are allowing the rain forests etc etc to be cut down to fuel our lifestyles be another one along soon enough and then ....blame the Government and not the one in china...40 0dd thousand less nurses...20 0dd thousand less police ..etc etc

Globally China will be the biggest power as other empires have been in time, I don't see why they would run the risk as some suggest of deliberately comprising that inevitability..

Have to ask why their advise is ignored.? Is there a credibility issue or an independence issue? If so many are ignoring it... Why?

I think myself since everyone needs water and drinks it this is how the virus has spread around the world because some poor countries where people have been infected wouldn't have enough money to travel abroad and given animals drink water and humans eat animals

My belief it's came from the ocean but how much lays at the bottom that anyone is aware of that could leak

I know the Chinese began an investigation and are claiming it didn't originate in Wuhan, maybe something they've provided to the WHO had creditability.

I don't really think it matters where it started more that we globally prepare for it and deal with it better (pretty please)

They know for sure the virus was from Bat's wether the virus had been isolated in a lab and then escaped in Wuhan is not and likely will never be known especiallyif an infected person from the lab was asymptotic. There are far worse virus out there..Nipah virus has a mortality rate of over 75% and can be transmitted to humans, fortunately there hasn't been a large outbreak like covid 19 and it doesn't seem as contagious. Bats seem to be immune to many different virus but can carry and spread them. When a bat can travel 100km a night in search for food add in habitat loss and that they are adapting to live closer to humans it wouldn't surprise us if it was natural transmission of covid 19 or just some bat excrement that wasn't cleaned properly in a wet market that caused the first human infections.

And think we should really stop blaming others for our collective woes...and start looking closer to home but it's a case of convincing the 90% to believe ( or doubt/blame/punish) whatever the 10% want to them doubt/blame/punish ..mr4 is that old he remembers when it was all the single mothers fault and before that the miners/unions and then of course the EU and them illegal immigrants/immigrants we blame the squirrels though as we all busy with this covid stuff they are busy making plans ..don't say you weren't warned ..all dates back to the red squirrels and the grey imported ones ..long and bitter history ..

Not working then is it, SARS? looks like the WHO needs another approach.

From further up above, China will not go to war over an accusation, attacking those who you sell to would be a short war.

China might not have deliberately made the virus, but it did start there.

No government on this planet would be stupid enough to use or modify a virus to use it as a weapon, again it could seriously backfire, unless they also develop the holy grail of vaccine that was the vaccine effective against all viruses and future possible mutations.

Probably waited until Trump was gone as if damming evidence was found he would probably have gone to war over it.

Dr fauci was studying the sars cov-2 strain in the USA.

He was undertaking research on

" gain of function "

which in laymans terms for those that dont know, is essentially the study/experimentation on finding out how to increase the human to human transmission rate of the virus. Once it got too risky, and dangerous the us government ceased funding to the studies and shut it down.

Fauci didnt quit however, he moved the studies to a different location. Wuhan. The very same lab.

If you honestly thought this came from bats or bat soup, they had you exactly where they wanted you.

Brett weinstein said on Joe Rogan that the original strains vulnerability to UV indicated that it was a lab based creation. Not sure how true or not. If true it definitely makes someone culpable for all of it.

I also think this is something which escalated from the lab in an error, where vaccine was not ready

I think so too. Having watched two videos posted of a lab technician working there, he was hushed by authorities but wanted the world to know what happened, the videos were of him explaining there was a leak and it was all hushed and removed, he became ill due to it and subsequently died as a result not before two videos were posted though. I think he said there were a couple others exposed as well. Never heard much more about it after they were removed.

I'd say the Who had two teams there, one visible and another ghosting under the radar before. Data won't be just from the latest trip but it'll come out as what they saw and what they may conclude to (ghost team findings).

Be interesting to read their findings. They are treading a tight line, a balance of showing the world they are doing something and careful not to upset a super power too much.

We've just got rid of the antagonistic, retaliation-focused US President, so it's not surprising that China were even more closed than they typically are.

We don't know what senior Chinese figures know, there's probably nothing more complex or conspiracy theory related than that they suppressed information and treated citizens atrociously.

There are probably going to be difficulties finding out too much more now, because citizens are repressed and things have changed. Plus some very unfortunate people are no longer alive.

Ready access to samples, all literature etc isn't probably going to be possible. It's good that inspectors are there and they may see between some of the lines by instinct or luck. We should not expect a witch hunt and blame game to be appropriate. That would help nobody to learn anything, nor to build trust and repair bridges.

Any species that was a transitional jump between bats and humans may be almost impossible to find, without a huge team sampling over a huge area. Though it may never be found anyway, if it did exist in more than a couple of individual animals m, that are no longer living.

It doesn't help anyone for any Chinese people to be scapegoated and punished by their government, blamed for trying to leak secrets. Unless some manage to, which is nearly impossible, due to the constant observations of the WHO staff, it may be manage fairly little more than diplomacy.
