"Or are they just special like the other special people. https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-crowds-at-heathrow-airport-spark-social-distancing-concerns-12196069 COVID-19: Crowds at Heathrow Airport spark social distancing concerns The airport claims social distancing in an airport environment is "not possible". " Saw that yesterday Utterly ridiculous

"It was interesting to read that one plane of 300 people would need a socially distanced queue of 1km in order to comply " Maybe the taxis could drop them all at Luton and they could walk there. lol

"It was interesting to read that one plane of 300 people would need a socially distanced queue of 1km in order to comply " That can’t be right. If everyone was in a bubble with just one person then you’d need 150*2m gaps, ie 300m. (Actually 298m) Absolute maximum of everyone’s a single would be 600m. Anyway Heathrow and many others have been absolutely useless and a national disgrace for many years. Even Covid can’t motivate them to get organised.

"well they left somewhere!! that's why there has to be a global answer to this not national " Yes they did and need to expect delays if deciding to travel now and all the extra paperwork that needs to be checked off, it will be the norm for quite some time.

"Well last year I had to fly up to Scotland for a family medical emergency. Flying from T5 I was pretty gobsmacked by the lack of precautions taken in the airport but most importantly on the flight. I assumed that the airline would blank out the middle seat in every row or make sure that couples had window seat and middle leaving the outside seat free. And maybe alternate the rows. But no it was a free for all and whilst mask's had to be worn and the boarding and disembarking process followed some protocol. Once on the plane that didn't seem to Matter. The airline had reduced the service so that the availability of flights was such that the remaining flights where at almost capacity. Unless it's a dire emergency I certainly won't be flying again anytime soon. " I find this utterly appalling. I've flown long haul business class a couple of times, and they alternate seats if you're flying within the UK on one of those tickets. The fact they can't do it for a fucking pandemic blows my mind.

On landing the pilot and crew make announcements asking people to stay seated until people in front have got their bags and moved away but most people just stand up like normal and crush together like utter muppets.

" It was the same with Easyjet. They kept jabbering on about distancing, this on a full flight with a quota of chin-hammock idiots. Won't be flying again under those conditions.
