That can’t be right. If everyone was in a bubble with just one person then you’d need 150*2m gaps, ie 300m. (Actually 298m)

Absolute maximum of everyone’s a single would be 600m.

Anyway Heathrow and many others have been absolutely useless and a national disgrace for many years. Even Covid can’t motivate them to get organised.

All airports are just bus stations with big egos.....and who see passengers as cash cows.

It wouldn’t surprise us if as soon as they get “told” to socially distance the immigration lines.....they will introduce a “premium” service at a price...

I've been in a few different airports in recent months and social distancing was possible everywhere, even at the gate.

Perhaps Heathrow is much busier or smaller. Schiphol managed it perfectly fine.

Yes they did and need to expect delays if deciding to travel now and all the extra paperwork that needs to be checked off, it will be the norm for quite some time.

Well last year I had to fly up to Scotland for a family medical emergency.

Flying from T5 I was pretty gobsmacked by the lack of precautions taken in the airport but most importantly on the flight.

I assumed that the airline would blank out the middle seat in every row or make sure that couples had window seat and middle leaving the outside seat free.

And maybe alternate the rows.

But no it was a free for all and whilst mask's had to be worn and the boarding and disembarking process followed some protocol.

Once on the plane that didn't seem to Matter.

The airline had reduced the service so that the availability of flights was such that the remaining flights where at almost capacity.

Unless it's a dire emergency I certainly won't be flying again anytime soon.

I find this utterly appalling.

I've flown long haul business class a couple of times, and they alternate seats if you're flying within the UK on one of those tickets.

The fact they can't do it for a fucking pandemic blows my mind.

On landing the pilot and crew make announcements asking people to stay seated until people in front have got their bags and moved away but most people just stand up like normal and crush together like utter muppets.

All non-essential passenger transport should have been stopped twelve months ago. Ticket prices hit with a times 10 tariff. Previously bought tickets refunded out of public purse. Mandatory quarantine for all incoming travellers, in airport-local hotels with miltary guards.

Costs to the economy would have been a tiny fraction of the amount that the country is still haemorrhaging. And swingers would still be able to have parties and shag friends or strangers as they pleased.

It was the same with Easyjet. They kept jabbering on about distancing, this on a full flight with a quota of chin-hammock idiots. Won't be flying again under those conditions.
